Started the process of going darker and applied the red tones to my hair but I'm really digging it haha so I'm leaving it for a bit until I'm ready for the full transition lol

How do you do this if I’m wanting to go to a ash brown without red in it my natural brown has a red tint and I don’t like it.. ready to let my hair grow out some this summer.. but please lmk what you would use!! I colored my daughters hair from blonde to brunette without filling. Now it’s a muddy brown with red tones toward the scalp and greenish tones on the length. We were going for a neutral ashy brown. What do you suggest now? Can I fill it now? If so what color filler?
Wish someone would have responded.
You can either use a color remover or bleach it out then fill hair. Mix color with final color to cancel out unwanted tones. Basically, start over. Use a protein filler for health as well.
lol i feel like these sisters should make a wig line!!!! they change their colour so much it's safer to wear a wig at this point!

They usually do semi permanent or Demi permanent so it’s so much easier to lift out!!!! ❤️
I am doing the same thing to my customer but she doesn’t want the level 5 she is looking for a level 7 can I use the same formula that you are using and look for level 7 in neutral tone and do a dash 7 G and dash of na . Any suggestions Thanks for your help

I have a question for Jessi or any professional colorist out here: if a new client (not a family member or close friend you’ve already worked with) comes in with overprocessed/damaged hair and wants to go super blonde, how do you approach that from a management perspective? I’ve always wanted to know how stylists navigate something like that
Be honest and say for the health of your hair you don't recommend any more bleach, and offer a toning, deep condition and great blowout service instead. If they argue or make an issue out of it politely tell them that you may not be the stylist for them in the end.
Usually you advice to go brunette until the hair heals and grows back healthy. 2-3 months and then back to blonde

What volume developer did you use when you were actually mixing up the final hair color? Also, I’m having a very hard time finding any Redken brand shades anywhere 😢 any suggestions?
This might be silly question,but can you achieve this with a permanent color if that is all that is available? Just mixing different levels of permanent instead ?
so the roots are technically permanent? you can use shades with a 10 vol? i didn’t know that!

If I was a blonde before and did my roots at a level 7 then went straight in with level 6/7all over and didn’t fill. At my next time colouring can I apply this filler over top before I do my colour to try to enrich my brunette 😬😬

Every video I research seems to have someone with bleached hair. Do I still have to tone or fill with natural dark blonde hair? I don’t remember having to do this ten years ago…
No, not for dark blonde hair. I've been straight platinum and went brown without filling with no issues. In that case you would want to choose a warm brown shade, which would have all the pigments in it that the bleached hair would need. For you, though, I don't think you'll have any issues going darker.
Why couldn't you add the missing tones right into the final color as long as they're lighter in level?
More control of the final color and it helps equalize porosity a bit so the final color sticks better
This is the "proper" way to do it, but really you could just buy a warm toned brown and dye right over the blonde with it without a problem. I've done that many times in my life with good results.
Is it okay to mix your colour ahead like that? Won’t it oxidize
My hair is light brown and i really want to go to chocolate brown/dark brown but im so scared for the outgrow being lighter! The other way around looks better so im scared. Does anyone have tips for me or experience?

I’ve always wondered the same thing! I dont personally either because I feel like I know the texture so maybe she feels the same ??
She’s prob done it so long she can eyeball it. And knowing the consistency. ❤️❤️
What’s the point of the step one 5N on the roots?
because her roots have grown out at a level 6-7 and if she just toned her at the bowl with the step 3 it wouldnt grab enough on the roots and would fade out.
She has to treat it as a seperate section, if that makes sense x

@@leylajohnson9980 I think it maybe a 10vol, I used 10vol and it came out well
she didn’t use a developer- shades eq comes with a processing solution so that is what she used for the filler! She only used a developer with the base color.
Can you do a lvl 10 full highlight root touch up with lvl 6 lowlight I’m finding my lvl 6 doesn’t stick or looks really chunky at the root and transparent at the ends.
If you find that your lowlight look transparent after you applied it on already lightened hair, You would need to add into your lowlight a filling tones of levels you are going down. So if you going from 10 to 6 you need to add at least lvl 8 and 7 into your lvl 6 lowlight too

She used shades eq which is pretty much just a demi. Kind of like a toner/glaze

@@sophiexo1685 putting it on dry hair lasts a little longer but it definitely isn’t long term. Depending on how often she washes her hair

What kind of shampoo and conditioner does your sister use at home? Because my hair has been through the same amount of bleaching and coloring as hers but her hair really doesn’t look that damaged. ❤️❤️🙏🏻
