In his movies he is also in control, he uses emotional content which most people see as anger. He was and still is cool and the greatest martial artist to have ever lived in my opinion
I took a few sample lessons from a Jeet kune Do gym in my area to get a feel for the techniques they encouraged and realized just how customized to the individual they are. Bruce Lee cut the dead weights that didn't suit him for his body type but for others, their martial arts experience could be different. No one should want to be Lee. They should want to be their best for who they are or they're fighting their own body type. Never hurts to be fit though :)
@170GMS.. Yes it is boxing training. Well at least some of it is..that is because jeet kune do consists of 3 major components. Fencing, chinese boxing and wing chun kung fu.
Whoever thinks Sijo Bruce Lee was the same way as in the movies, they are missing out on a lot of things, he was a philosopher and martial artist, what you see in the movies is his actor side, nothing more.
not 3 hrs but the whole day his wife said even when he is not working out he used to do push ups sit ups crunches bicycles and v ups and he held v-sit for 30 MINS OR MORE
yeah there is but as everything else, it requires practice. one phenomenal stance that really helps is the front stance in traditional wing chun. i take it now and i feel very balanced when i move. i had tendencies to lean backwards or forwards but once i got it it was very beneficial
Mercy is what dosent let you finish the blow its natural to stop when you think he is finished but you will know for sure he is finished when he is KO and to say Bruce lee had no control shows only how less you know him. to train in such a high level you need to have a lot of control !
@InTheRainstorm thats more mma street fights you rarely get kicked, takedowns are usually sloppy from street-fighters however in this case that he does use a takedown I'd hope that a person is trained properly enough to change stance and use proper technique.
Actually the people who knew him said he had a short temper and he thought of it as one of his faults. Of course the movies were exaggerated, but he did have a short temper and a lack of patience.
people don't get this type of fighting style. it's not just about throwing moves or moving around. its more about how discipline you are and intuned with your mind and body.

I don't think you read the post that I was responding to. He was under the impression that learning Jeet Kune Do and Wing Chun would make him better than Lee.
if your'e facing too parallel wont you be easy to trip? since both legs are in a straight line. and how do you block round house kicks using this stance?
you are a dumb ass you know that right? i mean ..what if you got attacked? your not gonna defend yourself? just stand there like a punching bag and get beat up? LOL
Dark E.T. Naga These are defense techniques. So yes, they are for you to defend yourself in case you are attacked. You must not be the one starting the fight.
If i am a right arm man, should i positioning like the man who appear in the video? I dont speak english so i cant understand very good the video. Please can someone answer me please? Its very important
Once you realise that you do not "finish" a martial art you may have reached a mentality close to other martial artists, even then you will not be where he was - but yes, you can be better than Bruce Lee if you work at it.
HAHAHA, that's cute. You think you'll be better than Bruce Lee just because you've taken Jeet Kune Do and Wing Chun classes. 1. Bruce Lee DID have mercy and control. He was also an actor. In the movies, he was acting. 2. Lee didn't just "learn" styles, he worked on them until he understood them, then cut the dead weight to develop his own style. Knowing more tricks than Lee does NOT make you better. 3. He also worked out. A lot. He was the DaVinci of exercise.
see what bruce lee missed out on was mercy and control. . .once i am finished with meet june do and traditional and street fighting wing chun i will be better than him
muay thai leaves the groin exposed 1 front kick there and it could all be over, see where muay thai has rules it has limitations and weaknesses, the whole thing is rotten at the core flawed if you like because the very stance and foundation it is built apon is not optimal for no rules, its only optimal for the ring. Front kick > Round kicks Side kick > Teep push kick Finger jab > Jab Boxing punches Same Trapping and takedowns > Muay thai clinch and muay thai takedowns JKD Ground game had dominant positions finishes, subs etc > Muay thai has nothing JKD > Muay Thai Also JKD evolves so that in itself makes it superior to everything because if you ever get any advantage JKD can take that and use it for itself, where as static styles dont change
Dan0101010101010 it only leaves groin exposed if you use the square stance with the standard stance you do not as you are sideways in this manner well thats how it seems to me anyway no matter what style you maybe hit anywhere in a street fight; just because you use a different style does not mean that he cant have a fast side step and kick or knee you in the groin
Lol if you think a specific style is ''better'' then you have completely misunderstood JKD... Saying Muay Thai is better is like saying cable TV is better than a pair of socks... Two completely different things. JKD is not a style, it does not tell you how to do something correctly, it is a way of guidance - you can modify how much you want to. You could follow most of the stuff that is brought up here because that is what bruce put into the philosophy of JKD, you as a reader and pupil can however put your own twist to it. I'm not saying do whatever the hell you want to, I'm saying follow it as a philosophy, because JKD is not a form or a style, you can put it into a form or a style if you want to. Bruce might not have been correct in everything.. Ironically, do what he says: add what's useful, discard what's not. Add what is uniquely your own.
In his movies he is also in control, he uses emotional content which most people see as anger. He was and still is cool and the greatest martial artist to have ever lived in my opinion
bruce lee practiced boxing, and it was a large influence on jeet kune do.

Whoever thinks Sijo Bruce Lee was the same way as in the movies, they are missing out on a lot of things, he was a philosopher and martial artist, what you see in the movies is his actor side, nothing more.
To be fair tho he did put a lot of philosophy in his movies Especially the scenes he filmed of game of death

he did admit to having insane anger or something like that i dont remember the correct word but yeah irl he had more control
yeah there is but as everything else, it requires practice. one phenomenal stance that really helps is the front stance in traditional wing chun. i take it now and i feel very balanced when i move. i had tendencies to lean backwards or forwards but once i got it it was very beneficial

Yup if you have to think about what move your going to do in a fight, it should be by instinct, the body in tune with the mind.

if your'e facing too parallel wont you be easy to trip? since both legs are in a straight line. and how do you block round house kicks using this stance?
It’s true. That’s ideally why you should aim to intercept or always be moving. Never just stand there unless you’re gonna kick with the lead
Fighting is NOT the way. To not fight, now that is the real challenge.
you are a dumb ass you know that right? i mean ..what if you got attacked? your not gonna defend yourself? just stand there like a punching bag and get beat up? LOL
Dark E.T. Naga Yes, I do know, rest assured.
Dark E.T. Naga These are defense techniques. So yes, they are for you to defend yourself in case you are attacked. You must not be the one starting the fight.
i agree but sometimes there's no choice.
if youre ready to die you never have to fight but people got this silly tendency to survive lmao I know its classic!
If i am a right arm man, should i positioning like the man who appear in the video? I dont speak english so i cant understand very good the video. Please can someone answer me please? Its very important
right arm man, right arm forward
strong arm is the side of strong leg first, as the man in the video yes
The best style is one that could be improved upon. Bruce Lee knew this. Just like in UFC now with multiple schools of training for one fighter.
did bruce lee tell u how to fight propley
Once you realise that you do not "finish" a martial art you may have reached a mentality close to other martial artists, even then you will not be where he was - but yes, you can be better than Bruce Lee if you work at it.
@AbusedRomance33 Bruce Lee was traning 3 hours/day and was always doing stuff connected with martial arts. Train hard kid.

Looks like amateur boxing with tkd kicks to be honest!
muay thai is better

Front kick > Round kicks
Side kick > Teep push kick
Finger jab > Jab
Boxing punches Same
Trapping and takedowns > Muay thai clinch and muay thai takedowns
JKD Ground game had dominant positions finishes, subs etc > Muay thai has nothing
JKD > Muay Thai
