How the sun graced your shoot was so inspiring and the pictures were phenomenal! I’ve been meaning to go fully into product photography and this video came recommended. Looks like the universe is talking. Thanks for this video and showing the process leading up to the shoot.
For future vids it might be good to show some of the product pics as we go, talk about your thoughts about them, and then show us the small changes you made and your thought process.
I absolutely agree. I love it when a photo of the outcome is attached on the video as the person takes the picture. Because if it's at the end I tend to start skipping the video just so I can get to the end to see how it came out and then i go to the next video.
Thank you for making this video. I am a baby entrepreneur and I'm pretty much doing EVERYTHING on my own (as most are). And I was researching different ideas for my product photoshoot and came across your video. This helped a lot and made me realize I need to start utilizing Pinterest for creative direction and to put some things together and just SHOOT. Thanks again!
Thank you for your incredibly kind comment! I'm so glad this helped you. Pinterest is definitely a great place to go for ideas. Yes, just shoot! It can be daunting but you never know what you can accomplish until you try. Good luck!
You are hilarious! And also WICKED TALENTED and creative. I was so engaged watching this. And I also learned a ton. So pumped to see more of your journey!
This channel needs more subs! Your sense of humor and the editing are on point, and the final PHOTOOOOOSS!! 👏🏻High end stuff over here Aileen! I'm subscribing right now
So glad I found this video! I hope you're still active on your older videos, since I have a question which I hope you can answer. A year later, what set up do you still use and or recommend for beginners i.e. what lighting etc.?
I'm still using my same lighting and camera equipment, I only upgraded one of my camera bodies from a 5D Mark 4 to an R6, but I still have the mark 4. I would recommend using video lights to start off if you're intimidated by using a trigger/receiver lighting set up (like I use with my flashes), and then move on to trying that out. :) I know it can seem daunting in the beginning, trust me, I had to really push myself to try it out, but it's actually pretty straight forward! Spend time playing around with them and you'll get comfortable with it in no time.
This video was so helpful! Thank you for sharing. I'm a very beginner product photographer and watching you setup and navigate the process of your product shoot was super informative for me. I found your shot list especially helpful! Would you mind sharing what you include in a shot list for a product shoot?
Thank you for watching and for the kind words! Great question. I include my inspo shots/mood board and then break down what each shot consists of, so I write down notes about the lighting set up, what the backdrop is, and what props are needed. This helps me get organized so I have a solid game plan going into the shoot and also, to know what I need to source/gather for each shot!
These are wonderful tips, I own a small laser engraving business so I will totally be implementing what I learned to take better pictures of my products 💕
Thank you for this video, I will be starting a business soon and that is exactly the 'vibe' I'm going for, looks High quality and professional. It would be great to see how you edit these pics.
this was a really great video! product photography is definitely a lot of fun and challenging especially when using strobes (currently learning how to use them myself). you definitely killed these!
Amazing work! How would you take pictures of leather bags? I am small business owner of leather bags but always strangling with pictures of my product. Can’t do like I want! And I like this warm shade style! Beautiful!
Great video. I went to Arts store and buy white and colored Styrofoam blocks. They're cheap, lol. I find lighting is the hardest part to taking product photos.
OMG I LOVE THESE! It's simple but definitely helped me in a creative sense in product photography. Specially I'm shooting a hair product right now and this just gave me an idea 💕👌
@@andreadelapena962 I honestly don't have a ton of experience shooting products haha but I think it's always good to start minimal (of course, depending on what style you're going for). I try to think about how the props will relate to the product and what I am trying to convey/what feel I'm going for. For example: if the product is seasonal and I want to go for a summer vibe, I think about bolder colours and fun props. If i want to keep the overall look simple, I'd use props that aren't too distracting that will take away from the product. As for lens, I used a Canon 50mm f1.2 lens. :)
Thank you Fida! I'm very flattered you are learning from my videos, I aim to share these videos for fun and didn't plan on them being educational so I'm glad they are useful! Haha
Hi Judene, I haven't taken photos of coffee grounds before but I think what I would do is have the coffee grounds in its bag/packaging, and scatter the grounds around the bag. You can have the grounds on a spoon as well to add another layer. It's hard to explain without showing you, so I would recommend looking up some inspiration on Pinterest!
Looks like a great studio. You mind sharing what light stands you were using? They look well built. Also curious about your trigger & lighting used too.
Thank you! The light stands I'm using are the ones that came with my Neewer led video lights which I bought from Amazon. They get the job done and are versatile but i wouldn't say they're heavy duty or super good quality haha The trigger system I have is the Godox trigger and receivers that are compatible with my Canon camera and speedlites. Lighting: I have a Canon 560 ex ii speedlite and a 480 ex ii (I believe those are the model numbers..)
