  • These are practices that have been used for years, but are not based on good science or good selective breeding practices, but never producing favorable results. These practices, or beliefs, arose suddenly, shared as if they were true, and adopted by others who were desperately looking for answers too. Not knowing whether they would work, and lacking any other ideas or ways of moving forward, they followed these practices and beliefs hoping they would give them the results they were looking for.
The problem is, when a large number of people are saying the same thing, the beginner feels, “then they must be true.” So they follow this advice, and keep following it even though it doesn't produce favorable results. They just keep following it, and acting as if it were true. This is a show you do not want to miss!
We specialize in breeding, and breeding related topics. This includes proper selection practices and the use of proven breeding programs. It is our mission to provide our followers and members a greater understanding of poultry breeding, poultry genetics, poultry health care and disease prevention, and how to improve the production and performance ability of your fowl.
If you are interested in creating a strain, or improving your established strain, you are in the right place.
We also want to encourage you to join us at the Breeders Academy, where we will not only help you increase your knowledge of breeding and advance your skills as a breeder, but improve the quality and performance of your fowl.

Phenotype is really important in selection. If you are thinking about pedigree more than phenotype, you might be fooled into using inferior birds. Pedigree is important, but, they have got to be good individuals, not the worst of a blood line, or you are breeding culls to get culls.
