Because it's blue. I couldn't find a blue one and realized this one must be wrapped, it's really ugly in it's default metalic silver form imo... I find it interesting that people call the Duke 390 ugly over this? I think they both are quirky as hell looking and it's either way.
I love my vitpilen ! My lady and I take our bikes all over New Zealand - 1400 km in a weekend - no pain just joy. I fitted a Leo Vince exhaust - it improved power.
@Stan stark I have been riding since 1979 - I have ridden on a wooden plank for 6 hours... must have leather backside by now.... Anyway - small tank so you get off every 150km to put gas in the tank. I can not stress enough - the ride is worth it. Short twitchy and grunty - with Cat delete and LV-10 fattening out the midrange makes it a tight road monster - and New Zealand is full of tight roads, one lane bridges and a full range of weather. I am, however talking to a mate who owns a clever upholstery company about reshaping and re-foaming the seat. Just ride one....

Smart guy having it wrapped in blue, looks amazing and I would have never considered it otherwise. Had me on a tilt for a brief moment considering this over the KTM Duke 390 but I think realistically I still want the 390 as thats where my heart has been. This would be a nice one to blast around on if the Duke wasn't an option.

“If you like function over looks, duke is the way to go” That’s an apparent bias towards duke. Husky is a more sophisticated/refined version of Ktm in terms of functionality and riding experience (except the display). Not to mention the 2020 Husqvarna has the best quick shifter in its category.
It also makes a couple less ponies than the Ktm, the tunes are slightly different. Ktm is all about “ready to race” so of course the Duke is gonna have the more agressive tune. Husky is a sweet looking bike for sure though.

The farmers are plowing and shit, there are tons of dirt and other shit on the roads by me, probably by you soon as well... You hit that at 90 and it might be a bad situation. @@madpete6438 At the end of the day, that's all that matters. Before I got took out by a cager, I had a FZ-09. Most fun bike I ever had, even with the seating slanting into the tank. All that matters is your like your whip.
Really good and honest review. Especially when riding the 401 explaining riders experience... l’d like to ask is the 701 just a more powerful version? Is the riding experience funner or more serious? What’s the difference besides it having a bigger engine?
The 701 isn’t much heavier but pretty much double the power. It feels bigger too. People have carved canyons, tore up tracks and cruised city streets on this bike. To me, it’s a great “do-it-all” option.
I had a coffmans slip on exhaust on my fz-1...without the db killer and that thing would scream! It was too loud at freeway speeds for long distances. Lol Sounded great ripping around to work and back and under overpasses though. 👍🏻
Forgot to mention on the last video I commented on...love the way you shot your bikes and blended in your logo...nice touch! Great footage of this bike! Would have been cool to hear the spec sheet rundown from the owner since he was there. Watch out for animals on those country roads man! Instinct says swerve to miss, but that can end badly for the rider! Hate to squash 'em but that is what is safest, especially at your speeds!
Jason Turner I think you get used to it. Like riding a sport bike. I rode all day Columbus Day and while I was fatigued, my back wasn’t hurting. Just tired from a full day of riding!
BUT The svartpilen has lower gearing so not as awesome on the open road - very good around town and in traffic. BTW I have a Vitpilen and my son has a Svartpilen (his girl friend has a Duke 390) - I think we can comment from a position of deep knowledge !

Nathan, I'm in the same boat. Gonna get a svartpilen this week and I'm having to go to another state to get it. I'm in Georgia, gonna head over to Alabama, or possibly Florida to pick it up. Worth the Ride IMO.
I took the existing metal bracket that came with the bike, drilled out the slots a little wider and attached the plate to it. See my IG for pics. @cbus401
I own a Svartpilen and highly recommend a steering dampener, esp at speeds over 80MPH. The best part of these bikes are the turning capabilities, not the speed. Certainly not the speed. Try the Svart if you don't like the Vit's position. I think the Vit is aweful. I rode one for 3 min and brought it back to the dealer and said No way. Dukes are hideous
Have you had any of the electrical issues that so many people are complaining about? I want to buy one so bad but am worried about all the bad reviews.
I kept stock muffler and just deleted the mid pipe and canister for $100 - definitely not a long distance or high speed bike. needs firmer suspension for higher speeds.

Is the Coffman pipe the only modified part of the exhaust? Have a cat delete on my 401 but thinking about chucking a different muffler on it this year and that Coffman pipe definitely sounds just right. Definitely digging the Swedish racing green too. If you ever find yourself riding in the Detroit metro area let me know, always looking for people to ride with!
AYOUSTIN yep it just replaces the factory exhaust. Cat is still on there. It comes with a DB killer too if it’s too loud with your cat delete. Definitely a good-sounding system.

I like cafe racers but Honda Rebel 500 looks super comfy and 2020 models look awesome so I’m torn between , then there is Rebel 300 but I think that would be too underpowered, I just want a bike to ride around town again

Go with the 390! Way more comfortable overall and I loved the looks personally.
Just change to Svartplien handlebars and she is a whole other beast. Needs the air box and ecu mods along with that exhaust to really sound and go.

If you have a soft fat backside it may be a bit hard - my firm tail is very happy on the vitpilen.

The Honda Grom Sr! It's also a lot like the Suzuki Goose SG350 that I had until I cooked the stator getting it to 100mph.

Yeah there are different tastes... I like the ergonomy of ktms and the lightweight. But the look is not acceptable for me.

Those are stock clip-ons. But I did change to higher bars later.
