The US Open is the final Grand Slam of the year and takes place at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. The 2021 US Open saw Russia's Daniil Medvedev and Great Britain's Emma Raducanu claim the men's and women's singles titles. It was both players' first major title, with 18-year-old Raducanu becoming the first-ever qualifier to achieve the feat. The 2022 US Open main draw is scheduled to go ahead between August 30 - September 11.

The commentators said "It worked a little bit" after Monfils took three straight games from the #1. Anything that "works" against Djokovic is big even if it doesn't win in the end. Monfils emphasis on showmanship simply doesn't appeal to them, because they're missing the appeal in tennis of showmanship.

Monfils isn't exactly known for his sportsmanship.
You can use your racket or hand (or words) to do the apology. Monfils had raised his left hand, but the camera just didn't really show it. Even if Monfils didn't apologize, it's still okay not to in this case since his intention was a drop shot either way (not like he swung really hard and it clips over the net).

Novak 18 : 0 Monfils (H2H score) .. I think Novak was never intimidated by him or anyone on the tour for that matter, although he respects his opponents.
