I was thinking: How in the world does Djokovic suddenly look so young? And then it hit me: this is from nine years ago.
Next time read the bold headlines,
Lol love this comment
the absolute power behind each stroke - simply under inspiring. thought this was an exhibition match
Monfils has tried everything against Novak - explosive hitting, simply slicing and lobbing the ball back to not give any pace to Novak, net rushing etc. But Novak has an answer for everything!
You really know a head-to-head is abysmal when the video titled "CRAZIEST Performance" is still a loss lmao
yeah lol
So you want to tell me that Monfils' "CRAZIEST" performance ever is a loss to Novak Djokovic? 😂 Wow, absolutely astonishing 😂
He's never beaten djokovic right? Correct me if I'm wrong.
The h to h is 18-0 for Djokovic so after all, why not calling it a performance🤣
@@baptfk7621 yeah in ATP but 0-1 for Monfils if you take Challenger tour
a tight loss against novak is a win against almost every other atp player, so yes, very crazy performance indeed.
Look at Nadal vs Verdasco at AO 2009.
Verdasco lost by a narrow margin, but his performance was out of the ordinary and he never again reached that level.
That's what it means to play against the BIG3.
Even if you give the best performance of your life, it doesn't mean you will win.
Great from Monfils, but like in Dubai he still can't quite get that 1 win over Djokovic
Well on the positive side, he's the the only one to fail at it :)
Entertaining from both players!! What great tennis is all about!!
CRAZIEST Performance Ever?
Not even close.
How about his comeback win in the tiebreak against Nishikori in Montreal?
THAT was CRAZY.
Dubai 2020 was way better and it was a masterclass... but Gaël just couldn't finish it off with 3 match points at 6-3 in the 2nd set tiebreak. But yeah, that match and this Toronto 2014 clash, they were his two closest chances in getting his first ever tour level Novak win.
Paris Masters 2009 too. Went to a final set tiebreak but down 3-6 Monfils hit a double fault to give Djokovic the win.
Monfils and Anelka. So much talent and so frustrating
This is best match of Monfils.
Simply AMAZING rally!👏
Be faster is not to be quicker but to be in the right place where the ball must be landed - Djokovic against Monfils.
Monfis was like kyrgos is now amazing talent and has everything to be one of the greats.. But didint have that little extra mind set.
Now obviously monfis is the opposite of kyrgios when it comes to personality 😅
I did not compare that part
First 3 points of Novak... what a nice title to the video 🤣🤣 kept waiting for what title said..
I mean regular monfils was obliterated by novak most of the times they encountered , being this close against an in form novak it's sure impressive considering that...
Not even close,he was playing better on Toronto 2023 and much more aggressive
Djokovic 18 vs 0 Monfils. ATP tour h2h. Yes, you read it right: Monfils has never ever won against Djokovic on the tour.
muchas de esas veces Monfils tiró el partido, parece que lo hace con voluntad a perder vs Nole.
@@JOSEGUILLERMOPASCUALTRUJILLOYeah I’d say it’s not as bad as Gasquet and Nadal
crazy how good djokovic is, gael is top for years 50 and was top 15 in prime reaching 6th spot and djokovic is still 19-0 against him
I just looked and thought our dose Novak looked so young it a long time ago 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍🇬🇧
Il migliore in assoluto Djokovic ❤
Monfils is looking like the hulk out there .. dudes built like Hercules
Spectacular!
… and still lost 🤷🏻♂️
Monfils in a nutshell
More a comment on Novak (and the other members of the big 3 during their peak years) - when he's on, it takes an extremely high level of play to even keep things close.
I mean it’s Djokovic, what can he do?
@@ryoshusuke2108 he's 0-18 against Djokovic, Djokovic is just his nightmare. Just like Nadal is Gasquet's nightmare
@@anseinueseima408 Djokovic and Nadal are nightmares for like 95% of the tour
Браво, наш Джокович!
🙏🏾👑🗽NOVAK DJOKOVIC 🥎🎾🗽 🗽 🗽 🗽 🗽
مونفيس هو اكثر لاعب مزاجي في تاريخ التنس لولا مزاجيته لاصبح ضمن التوب5 لسنوات طويله كان يملك كل شي للاسف
Nice one Djoko !
Monfils only win against Djokovic came way back in 2004
Djokovic is 18-0 against Monfils.Monfils is yet to win a match against Djokovic.
@@bhuvanesh0115 Monfils did beat him in an ITF clay match in 2004 though
It wasn't an ATP tour match.
@@BillyBob-xi9ihso both are correct, Monfils did won a Match against novak but their h2h récords are considering atp matches...
@@Molloy1951it’s still a win lol, that all he said
His best performance was the first set against Djokovic in Dubai 2020
So nice to see a father and son playing tennis together
Monfils is lovery player!
flying rackets always my favorite tennis moment
It is amasing to see how monfils miss judge the ball distance, and also just chipping the shot despite of his insane speed. On the other hand, He would have been one of the best player if he had those....
The Best monfils is monfils in Dubai 2020
Monfils was so passive in the first set
Monfils' athleticism is world class and maybe the best tennis has ever seen - and it might be a factor to why his shot selection is so poor at times.
Look at the rally at @11:28. He hits a good serve, Novak's return lands on the service line with no real pace nor direction - which for how good Novak is at returning is about as good as outcome you can hope for as a server. But Monfils hits a last second switch to a slice that barely has any bite on the ball, and lands in no man's land? And then he keep hitting slices (really bad slices as well) for no reason even though he's not really in a defensive position. Sure, he wins the point but surely he could have played that point better. His athleticism is what won him the point, if you look at a lot of the rallys in this match it's really a wonder why he hits these pointless slices and chips when he has the game to hit offensive shots. Look at the point at @9:44 for example. Not a single slice, he's in full control of the rally and hits with pace and deep in the court. I've watched a lot of Monfils matches and it's like he prefers playing defensively - even though he doesn't need to and is fully capable of taking over offensively.
Commentators often talked about Monfils as the best athlete, but in tennis, you cannot be just a good sprinter, you also need endurance and Monfils did not have that in five set matches against top players.
Am I the only one finding them ultra slow?
As always though Monfils way too passive when it matters
I was literally gonna say this, he's plays so passive and consistent yet he's infamous for his highlight reel shots and 100mph winners. Title winning, grand slam contending talent but like Kyrgios, either doesn't want it enough or doesn't care enough to put in the work.
@@nihilus1626another explanation is that he just isn’t mentally good enough, which is distinct from wanting it enough
No importa cuando leas esto, Djokovic ganándole a Monfils....
Идемо НОЛЕ!!!🙏❤️
How crazy it is!
To my fellow anime (especially One Piece) fans, the way Monfils moves on the court reminds me of JoyBoy
How was this match winning point from Djokovic not included in the extended grunt winners compilations?????
This was in 2014 bruh idk why ur still posting this is 2023
Интересный матч....темп небольшой,но работа была у обоих чисто на технику и в некоторых моментах на измор.Браво обоим.
2:29 - 2:35 - lol
Gaël is the most adorable tennis player of all time.
Superb from Monifils, if he improves his serve skill he can beat Djokovic next time
He had way better performances I mean come on he had god modes that were way better than this match
Before watching I knew Novak will still win this one :D
Travis Scott was huuuge back in the day
モンフィスが大好きだ😊
Played like he never did. Lost like he always did😂
Cheering for Gael, but still a good match---thanks, eh?
Watching this gave me second-hand embarrassment
Is the court very slow or is Monfils hitting the ball very slowly? Painful to watch
no this court is pretty fast. its one of the faster hard courts
Monfil's forehand is one of the hardest on the tour. As you can see one of the forehand clocked 167 kmph n that was just a simple swing.
But, never understood why he doesn't look to hit hard !!!
@@anjangogoi1513 when your 6 8 i would hope you have that kind of easy power.
Monfils' CRAZIEST Performance Ever but still lose, is this insulting Monfil ?!
Considering Novak has 18-0 against him (so a terrible Match up to gael) and most of the times he destroyed Monfils, being this close tondefear an in form.Novak sure it's impressive to His standards
What the eff was that. Monfils must have been high.
Yet he still lost, he's just pushing all the time. He's a real pusher, that's why he failed to seize a masters title
I hope monfils can win wimbledon before he retires
This is very symptomatic of Monfils' career, so many matches where he doesn't try anything, no intentions, no power, just defense. It's quite boring and it just got Djokovic asleep here
I'll never understand why Monfils is so passive. He's never the to take control of a point. It's like he only wants to be a wall
12.19…Djokovic in a nutshell
Ilove th.both but I've mofis more
Superb Gael but never had a balls and mental toughness to beat Novak
still lost, the title is so clickbait lmao
It was a crazy performance full of antics and athletic tweeners, sqush shots and more. I don't think the title misrepresents the content here. Running after the tennis ball without a racket to hit it with is pretty crazy.
why always monfils man?! are u filling up a race quota or something? u upload more monfils than roger wtf man
Bruh
This is evil😂
First
I miss this era of tennis. Now it’s full of trash children who benefit off of all the top players in this era succumbing to injuries
Heartbreaking loss for Gael. I think that was when I started to despise Djokovic. He was taking the bathroom break, medical timeout - just to disrupt and destabilize Monfils. Djokovic is excellent and an evil player.
Grande djokovic..
Sad part monnfils never beat the goat
jugó como nunca y perdió como siempre
SA TAKVOM LOŠOM IGROM ĆE NOVAK LOŠE PROĆI U TORONTU.
He literally lost in straight sets. Like the rather predictable adoration for Eubanks, its clear for all to see that there is an agenda at work here.
