DARKWATCH's comment is correct...you have the Hyundai input and output speed sensors confused (I've put these in my Hyundai, too). A good way to tell them apart is that the OUTPUT sensor has a RIGHT ANGLE connector, and the INPUT sensor has the connector that goes STRAIGHT UP from the sensor, in the same direction as the mounting bolt. The ones you got from the dealer, both times, were boxed correctly. Thanks for the reminder on the wiring, though, as I'm now getting a P0722 code and suspect it's the wiring.
Did you look at the whole video? Did you see the code, p0772 that is an output speed sensor code? Did you see that the sensor's wires were broken causing the output speed sensor code? When the wires were repaired for the outspeed sensor, that was pulled out the back, the output speed sensor code went away. So, darkwatch's comment was incorrect. The output speed sensor is the one that I show in the video, and the dealership had the wrong sensor in the output speed sensor box.
Great diagnosis man..I had a Pacifica in the shop the other day with weird shifting and speedo moving without command..lol..we went thru 2 alternators before it finally got right
@@OnlineMechanicTips so far, any cars with transmission problems. Some we know, others we have to figure out. We do too many varieties to have pattern failures. As a result, we are always in learning more.
Great video. Im having the same issue. I ended up putting both input and output in. Took it for a ride and it shifted well. I ended up putting a new battery and alternator in. Took it for a ride after that and it was back to not shifting and reving high. Ill have to get a diagnostic
@ThePariss333 i believe its by the front right far side of the tranny. Its arm scratching hell but its all about getting the right angle and rotatable socket
That is not the output sensor it is the input on a 2007 Hyundia Elantra and the 2008 model is the same. The output sensor is in the front side of the transmission under the battery
