You know I just realized that as a setter, Suga is very similar to Oikawa. Unlike kageyama he doesn’t have the innate talent and needs to work harder than him, and at the same time he brings out the best of his teammates both in abilities and their spirit/mood. This took me 3 rewatches and a ridiculous amount of reactions to figure out xD
don't sleep on Sugawara. He's not a genius, but he's an excellent setter and an excellent observer who pays attention to his teammates and knows their strengths to utilize them to the best he is able to. everyone is not a genius, however when you do the best you can and am positive it affects those around you! That and I LOVE how Asahi made the last point score so Suga will go out well! They did good. I love Suga's vibes!

Its not the typical show where the main does everything and no one else really adds or matters. I got into Haikyuu bc of my love for volleyball. I couldn't believe there was a show (and manga) about this sport- and they portrayed it so well and so accurately! They truly captured the feelings of it!!- the hype, the quickness, the connection with teammates, the feelings, EVERYTHING! Im so happy about how this show portrays volleyball! EPISODE 21 Here I am again, so bare with me. I love that the spotlight is back on Suga for a while! His dynamic with the team is so great and I think especially Tsukki is very unsettled by the sudden change from the bold Kageyama to the sugar sweet suga. I also love seeing that while Kageyama might not have completely outgrown his soloist habits just yet, his growth is definitely there and can be seen in the internal monologue he has about being put on the bench in junior high versus being put on the bench now - it’s great that he sees it as a way to improve! And the fact he admitted to himself that the reasons for him getting benched are different now just makes it better. This episode is the reason why they keep showing shots of Suga observing and analyzing the game from the sideline before. KAGEYAMA-SUGA SCENE Suga was going to say "Go Win This", but instead he decided to say "Let's Go Win This" Suga's message to Kageyama is basically that Kageyama doesn't have to put it all on his shoulders, and he can rely on his teammates. 4:05 Sugawara didn't do it. He was taking advantage of Aoba Johsai's fixation with Hinata. Oikawa stupidly announced that Tobio isn't in the game, so setting Hinata is unlikely, and they should watch the antennae for Asahi or Tanaka. So Suga opted to quick-set. Any setter can perform a quick set, it's just that Sugawara didn't essentially shoot set Hinata at the peak of his hit with his eyes closed for that fictional "freak quick" attack.

When I used to watch collegiate volleyball, I think I saw a team that made it to the finals that have two really good setters. It helps a lot.
