- ESCONDIDO, CA (Sept. 11, 2015) - Today, San Diego-based Stone Brewing Co. is pleased to announce that co-founder Greg Koch will be promoted (with the blessing from his business partner, of course) from CEO and transition into a new role as Executive Chairman.
Do your thing, Greg. I hope you can find a CEO who appreciates the work you've put into making Stone Brewing the flagship of the craft brew industry. Also, hope you continue to promote the product and advance the reach of Stone across the world.
+Pamela Matthews We will accept no less! Not in a hurry. It's all about finding the RIGHT person. Thanks for your kind words!
Mitch, Greg and Steve are nothing less than inspirational. Oddly, I got in to craft beer and homebrewing at the same time. I ordered my beer kit then did all my research. The story of the American Craft beer revolution is just people having a dream. All of the talks Greg has given that I find on TH-cam has inspired me to try and do the same thing. I wish I could go out there for one week and learn as much as I can from Mitch about brewing and Greg about running it. I'd give a whole lot just work on a recipe with those guys
Despite what +Pyro ific said, yeah.... Reaching 20 years someone at the helm has to move on, look at the big picture, and do what's necessary to ensure the legacy lives on. Cheers fellas! Here's to the next 200 hundred years - Cheers!
Jesus makes good beer.
I have and always will be an Greg Koch and Stone Brewing fan. If this is what it takes to bring Stone to that next level then I'm all for it. And besides Greg is a founder he can do whatever he darn well wants to. If you're a real fan of Stone let me get a Hell Yeah!!
p.s. love the statement of Stone will never sell out, not a fan of all these breweries allowing themselves to be bought by bigger companies i.e. heineken and lagunitas
+NYRfan4ever I still love Lagunitas stuff, though. I will keep buying their beers, as long as their quality stays the same. Anyway, I also love Stone's stuff and I hope they keep doing great things! :)
Congratulations to you Greg for all you've done for Stone over the years. You guys run THE worlds best brewery hands-down and I wish you good luck on finding the right CEO. I know you guys are too passionate about craft beer to let the wrong person run the company you've crafted for the past 19 years. Keep it up and enjoy that exec chairman spot! Can't wait to see what you guys have in store for your 20th anniversary!
Did Greg just promote himself to executive junior vice chairman? Thats bad ass
Good luck on the new team member, Best brewery imo, I can still remember my first Ruination...what an ass kicker that one was, just awesome.keep doing what you do man, you and your team do one hell of a job, cheers!
What are the glass styles/types the team is drinking out of once outside?
i pray that this change will not affect the quality of your beer, you have done a fantastic job thus far being one of the largest craft beer empires out there.
best regards,
prost
+XTheSonofTheSunX Very cool. Appreciate the compliment. The answer as to if we will allow for the quality and character to be affected, the answer is between "No!" and "Hell No!" ;-]-=
i'll drink to that!
cheers
Love Stone Brewing. You have to change to adapt to a changing marketplace. Best of luck to you phantoms of craft brewing.
This isn't Greg Koch and the Tone Controls... I like this one too
Sir Greg! YES! GOD SPEED!
Greg has almost the same cadence as Jim Kock.
if i worked at a brewery id ask to go back to work any day of the week
Stone sold out to big beer.
just tried your Pataskala IPA....amazing =)
I just became a stone fan. ruination ipa awesome
What beer was that Greg?
+eric madrid That was the Stone Go To IPA. We shot that in the morning after all...
And a.... and a....the "um" equivalent. I.m guessing thats why Greg does most of the talking.
This whole video felt weirdly scripted
+Pyro ific Well, I had in mind the points that I wanted to get across if that counts. I'd rather it'd be weird knowing what I was going to be saying, than if I didn't know what the hell I was doing! Of course, I'm not sure I've ever known what the hell I've been doing. Maybe this is all just a dream and I'll wake up tomorrow morning and find out I'm just some random scraggly dude that sits at the desk across from you that the boss keeps getting after to shave and cut his damn hair!
*****
Well damn now I feel bad knowing that you actually read the comments
+Greg Koch or some drunk bum in an alley who hallucinates being a craft beer badass because you are surrounded by old beer bottles
a strange way to say Greg is no longer able to run the company.
I wish I was able to work for them.
Greg looks like he could be the leader of a cult lol
Hell Yeah?? haha. HowZzz bout Heaven Yeah? Matthew ~ 21:42 Jesus saith unto them, Did ye NEVER read in the scriptures, The [STONE] which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes? Does the Position require a Freemasonic Hand Shake? =O
