- Henry Winkler (Happy Days, Barry) checks into the show this week to talk about the idea of acknowledging and accepting one's shortcomings in order to continue pursuing your passions.
Henry opens up about his self improvement through therapy and how he sees this process as strength building rather than weakness uncovering.
We also talk about his experience on Barry and Happy Days, some of the peers he’s been able to build a rarely genuine friendship with, and his reaction to finally winning an Emmy.

I would have to wait until I could be in the same room . I would get any test vaccine, whatever it took to sit down with this living legend. Besides being the Fonz. In waterboy there was one scene. He appears to be on the phone with his mother . Its a tight shot . As the conversation starts to sound a little off. The camera is panning down, and when it gets from the knee down . You see the phone isn't plugged in and he's wearing high heels, and he starts whining. While stomping one heel. I came off my chair and honestly thought I was going to piss my pants I laughed so F#$king hard. As I was typing this I was laughing so loud my lady poked her head into the garage

This episode truly moved me. I am also dyslexic and at times, I laughed and cried. I love how Henry touched upon the fact that he also gets lost when driving and needs assistance. It is very reassuring to hear other people go through some of the same struggles that I have. The rapport between Michael and Henry was very touching. I have said ti before and I will say it again, I am a proud supporter of this phenomenal podcast and Michael Rosenbaum.

The sweetest man I've ever met. I saw him at Comic Con a few years back and he stopped signing autographs for a few minutes to walk down the waiting line to greet and thank everyone for coming. Like nobody does that. Then he signed a picture for my mother who loves him, "Penni is so lovely." A true gem of a human being. I love that he's back this week.
I got to meet Henry, briefly, of course, at the Iola car show a few years ago and he was just an absolute gem. He gave off such a warm and caring presence, and just had an air of genuine niceness about him. He didn't hesitate to answer any questions or anything, and was just so genuinely nice, despite the awful heat we had then, he still came out to the car show, signed autographs, and interacted with the fans. I was genuinely blown away by the experience, and I keep the signed Fonzie picture I got from him in a picture frame in the house.
This podcast was made for Henry Winkler. Such a lovely, compassionate man and a natural teacher who is in touch with his emotions. On the topic of stopping when you can feel you aren't in the right head space- I teach adults, and certain needy students began to show up during my pre-class prep time. They were incapable of hearing me when I asked for them to come back closer to the class time. I finally put up a do not disturb sign saying that I wouldn't be available until 10 minutes before the class time. Other staff too noice, and soon others were putting up signs as well.
I've met a lot of celebrities, but Henry is hands down the kindest, most precious gentleman I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. Delighted to see him here, please bring him back for an update.
Henry is my dyslexic god! after being diagnosed at 16, its taken me 20 years to except this and now its part of me. I had no idea that we shared this but since I discovered our link I continue to be inspired by this man
The very first comic con I ever went to I met Henry and was so starstruck. I went up nervously and was like "HiiiiImRachelAndYoureGreatSoIHadToSayHi." Like that. All in one breath. And he gently said, "Hi, I'm Henry." Lol, he was so kind. Love his episodes. You guys have great chemistry, too, Michael. I love listening to you guys chat. Thank you for this! 🖤

I loved the entire interview. So much insight. Where he talked about the industry and friendships based on need. Also when he shared how he deals with feelings of defensiveness. Loved it. And his smile is just beautiful. Still a charmer. Thank you.

And this just might be my favorite episode - Henry Winkler is an icon, a genuinely amazing person, an incredible actor, and a prolific author despite his dyslexia. He's so genuinely kind, and this comes across clearly in your interview. I love Henry Winkler he’s one of the most humble celebrities ❤️ in Hollywood. Being a 70s baby growing up in the 80’s were the best times watching so many great shows like Happy Days, listening to the 80’s music 🎼, and watching classic movies had such a major impact in my life The 50s was another beautiful era. ❤️
That's what I always say as well, "Time will tell" love that line. Speaks so much of the truth.
Love the talk about the writing as well. My dad wrote my Aunt until his death, then I started from there. We still write every month. I think more people should do that.

In my experience, a big reason people don't respond to messages is because when they are on their own, it's one of the few times they dont have to keep their guard up and just the small act of replying to a text or an email can immediately drag you back into that state of feeling obligated to pretend everything is all right.
Maybe I'm just depressed.
With everything going on these days I feel more connected to your podcasts. I never thought I could feel so bad. Thank you for not letting people down. And don't worry, you don't have to try hard for that. Your smile is everything :)

I love how upfront Mr. Winkler is with his dyslexia. It is really difficult living with a learning disability and it takes courage to acknowledge what a person's weaknesses are. The both of you are correct in that best way to go about life is just giving your best effort and to just try.

I don’t know how he kept a straight face :) I am glad he is so genuine about friendships in and outside the business. I bet this was a fun interview for you both. I am really enjoying your podcasts honestly. The friendships he discussed, I deal with this at work. It sucks, and is sad, and bothers me a lot, but you have to move past, which is tough.
