    Glad ya love this show little Lady! Was in my teens when this first aired! Look up documentaries and interviews! I know you weren't here in those days, but this show covered serious topics of the time! Take care sweetie and be blessed! Just remember!! When you were born, you cried and the world rejoiced! Live your life so when you leave this world, you rejoice and the world cries!🙏✌️🫂🤪🐍

    No, sweet girl, that man in the scene who said he was Dorothy’s ex-husband was not Bill Macy, who played Walter on _Maude_ .
    Also, after this show, there was a short-lived spin-off continuation series called _The Golden Palace_ (1992-1993), but Bea Arthur didn’t star in it and only reprised her role as Dorothy in a 2-part episode where she guest starred.
    Anyway, thank-you for the reaction once more. Your smile and laughter always brighten my day, no matter how it has been so far. *😊❤*

    Btw, the littlest lady plays the tallest lady's Mom, even tho', irl, she was the second youngest of all four actresses. Estelle Getty was only 53 when this show started. (versus 80;) 🤔

    • @a.grimes4202
      @a.grimes4202 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yeah, Estelle Getty portrayed Sophia Petrillo, Dorothy’s mother on _The Golden Girls_ and its short-lived spin-off continuation series, _The Golden Palace_ (1992-1993), and she was actually the second youngest of the 4 actresses, after Rue McClanahan, who portrayed Blanche Deveraux, and the makeup team had to spend much more time on hers than anyone else because Sophia was the oldest of the 4.
      Sadly, in a cruel twist of ironic fate, Getty died the youngest and the soonest after the 2 shows ended, on July 22, 2008, a mere 3 days before what would’ve been her 85th birthday. Rue McClanahan was 86 and 3+ months, Bea Arthur was 86 and within 18 days of her 87th birthday and of course, Betty White died at 99 on New Year’s Eve 2021, just 17 days before her 100th birthday.

    Might I make a suggestion? I think you'll like "Mama's family". In fact, both Betty (Rose) and Rue (Blanche) were in Mama's family for the first 2 seasons.

    She's referring to the hump back of Notre Dame who lived in the Bell Tower in France .... Fun fact : before Dorothy became an actress she served in U.S. Army... & Blanche was on Maude too.

    • @LittleSisterReacts
      @LittleSisterReacts  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I know she is referencing Quasimodo from The Hunchback of Notre-Dame, I've watched the Disney movie, the very old silent picture film and read a little bit of the book. I meant that it seems like a common joke she calls herself, but she doesn't have any characteristics of Quasimodo, which is funny but odd to keep referencing a hump twice. I also knew Bea Arthur served in the army, but Blanche's actress I didn't know or remembered if she was in Maude. Last time I watched Maude It was 11 or 12 years ago on Antenna TV.

    You looked a bit quizzical when Dorothy mentioned the taste of Coke.
    To give you a historical perspective, around the time The Golden Girls was broadcast, Pepsi did a famous taste test, and the majority of Americans preferred the taste of Pespsi over Coke.. In response, Coka Col;a changed Coke to the "New Coke", and Americans rejected the new flavor. I remember tasting it, and I didn't like it either.

    You are so beautiful, and your laugh can cure all the sadness in the world. 😊
    There is a video of Dorothy’s best sarcastic lines. That one is worth reacting to.
    I hope you get a chance to see the rest of the series. It is definitely one of my favorites.
    Speaking of Psycho. Besides the original, “Psycho 4: The Beginning” to me, is the best sequel of them all. It is very underrated.
    Olivia Hussey as Norman Bates’ mother in that film is one of her greatest performances next to her playing Juliet in the 1968 film version. They couldn’t find a perfect actress than her to play that role.
    Henry Thomas from E.T. was also the perfect choice to play the young Norman Bates.
    That art-piece at the end of the video was very nice. Did you draw that?
    Anyways, I just subscribed. Keep up the good work. 😊

      @LittleSisterReacts  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I love Psycho 4, it's easy to understand why he's like that and if his mother wasn't so controlling he would have had a normal life and his victims wouldn't have been killed. Yes, I did make that drawing at the end. I drew that quickly and it's not my best work, one day I will change and improve it again. Thank you for the compliments btw. 🤗

    She was holding her hostage because the thought Blanche was going to marry a con artist, and she was right, it was the pilot episode. I won't spoil the ending

    My guess on why Dorthy keeps mentioning her hump is when people get older they get a hump on there back. Or on their neck. That would be my guess. But funny. I love Dorothy.

    Interesting fact: Anthony Perkins has a son Osgood "Oz" Perkins who is a screenwriter, director, and actor. He played David Kidney in Legally Blonde and a young Norman Bates in Psycho II. He wrote and directed the films The Blackcoat's Daughter, I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House, and the upcoming Longlegs(2024). The Monkey is in preproduction. Thanks for your reaction and LOVE The Golden Girls and they have repeats both on cable TVLand and the Hallmark Channel. The scene where Dorothy is grabbing Rose is when Blanche is about to get married but the groom stands her up from the very first season when they had a gay cook/housekeeper before he was cut out to focus just on The Golden Girls and their stories.
