Yamamoto has ridiculous stats in Japan. He is better than ohtani.🎉
Yamamoto's stats are among the highest in NPB history. He is comparable to Japan's leading pitchers like Nomo and Darvish. Many Japanese baseball fans like me have high expectations for him.
Senga will opt out after 2025. He is grossly underpaid. 2nd in ROY and tops in CY. He's an ace and deserves a lot more.

@@user-dy2dt7fp1gWhy is that a dumb take? His contract has an opt-out after year 3, which is 2025, and his AAV is only $15 million. I still see him as a #2 starter rather than an ace (he walks too many guys, and he’s so reliant on the splitter), but unless he gets hurt, is suddenly awful, or agrees to a renegotiated deal, he’s almost certainly going to exercise his opt-out.

But Imanaga Played in Central League, producing only Matsui, Aoki, Kuroda, and some trivial playes.

He definitely needs to throw something else. His splitter is fantastic, but he’s EXTREMELY reliant on it, and it’s a pitch that is rarely in the zone. His fastball isn’t actually that great, despite its velocity-the swinging strike rate on it is well below average, and he doesn’t command it that well. His cutter is his second-best pitch. Having a pitch with a higher zone rate that gets whiffs would help him tremendously (note the high walk rate).
