That was a great exercise and analysis. Thank you very much. Now that I have created, sufficient dividend, income, sufficient income I find myself attracted, primarily to S&P 500 index funds. Instead of chasing the index, I say to myself why not just invest in it. I always appreciate your work!
Dave when you’ve essentially “won” the investing game, why bother with chasing higher returns. Passively invest in the S&P and let the market slowly grow your wealth. Spend your time on more enjoyable things in life! I’m glad to hear you still find my content insightful!
Thank you. It seems like anytime has been a relatively good time to buy into both, some times obviously better than others. But relative to the S&P you would have done better.
To be honest I’m not too familiar with both funds. The expense ratios look a bit high and total performance is a bit weak especially for FDL. FDL is also very concentrated in a few top holdings, I think the top 10 holdings make up 60% of the fund. These are not ideal funds for me personally and that is why I’m not very familiar with them. I’m probably not the best person to ask about either fund as I would not be interested in them since they don’t fit my investment objectives. If you think they’re great and the performance looks good to you and most importantly if they deliver returns/income that aligns with your investment goals then you shouldn’t care what I think of them. Liking an investment vehicle is very subjective to each persons goals.
Interesting list, some of these companies have been around for a long time. I may test them out and see how well they faired against the S&P. Thanks for sharing.

I have all five!
I bet you’re pretty happy with the returns, provided you have owned these stocks for a while!
Are you beating the S&P 500?
Smart!
Great Video! I’ve been looking at ZTS and I should’ve pulled the trigger 3 months ago.
Thank you! I like the stock very much and I’ve been building out a position for a little while now.

Great video, I need to look for entry points for ZTS and ACN 🙂

I’d guess Costco is a contender for this list
I think they would be a great contender to evaluate, thanks for bringing it up.
