Congrats on completing the challenge! I just read the rules to Word Heist, and I'm absolutely sure I would love it. Turing Machine looks super fun; I'm seeing a pattern of puzzle-themed favourites. 100 plays!! Yikes, I'd be so worried about burnout, even on my favourite games. You picked some solid games to do it on, though! Little Big Thumbs way up.
I discovered your channel this year and I've been loving it! I'm a father with 4 young kids and I'm always looking for games to play that will be fun for the entire family. I found you from your video on Turtle Splash and I've added other games to my wish list based on your recommendations, thanks for all of your work!
Love that Turtle Splash is what brought you our way! Thanks for the comment and for following along - let us know if there’s something in particular you’d like to see in 2024!!
First rule of Word Game Club is five letters, must contain L and S, three bonus points for Q. :) What would/could I put on a 1x100 play challenge? Doomtown: Weird West Edition . Sadly, I hardly played Doomtown this year on account of work and other things. Yer question might be just the inspiration I need to get back in the saddle. :) Even though Doomtown is really an area control game with direct conflict and hand/deck management, like Unmatched, answering with an LCG still seems a little bit like cheatin'. So I'll reveal a legal hand with Ganz schön clever / That's So Clever. (I'd take the 'stretch' of the various iterations of That's So Clever, ala the various characters in Unmatched.) It will be interesting to see if I develop a strong preference for (or aversion to) any particular version. Honourable mention for Twilight Struggle - I think its the only boardgame where I got close to 100 plays in this last year.
Word Game Club is definitely going to be a thing. You just have to decide whether it's worth learning the secret handshake. Doomtown! I had forgotten about that game, but I'm suddenly remembering how you are an absolute champ leading the charge to keep it alive! The Clever series would be a GREAT candidate for the challenge, and the solo options make it much more viable than most games. Twilight Struggle x 100 sounds like cruel and unusual punishment to me, but maybe I need to gain a greater appreciation for the game!

Thanks, buddy! We’re also worried about burnout, but I think we’ve got a loose strategy to minimize it.
And I’d play Word Heist with you any day!

Milo: Remember how I didn’t love Word Heist and felt I was doing awful during the game and then I won? lol I’d play that again :-)
Did you still not love Word Heist at the end of the game?
