    ZCO MPCT3X is unbeatable for me, IMO. The TT is amazing, but the reticle options swing me to ZCO all day. Both in terms of function and the fact that they’re fully illuminated.

    I get what you are saying though. When I got into shooting I started with a Nikon Prostaff 5. I have worked my way up to a Leupold Mark 5. If I do go up from there Im not sure how much Id go probably bot much. Nice vid man. Looking forward to more!

    Good review man. I agree with everything you said having owned it in the 5 to 27 model. Minus your dope dialing technique lol. But good job on the unbiased review. One thing that I would add is that I think we forget when we talk about an eyebox of a scope is how said eyebox depends on the magnification that the scope is set. I have found the 5 to 27 at its mid magnification range (15-18) to be one of the most forgiving eye boxes I have experienced, where it did start to tighten up a bit at 27 power. Tangent is impressive how strong it is even at 25x.
    But guys should put a whole lot more emphasis on stuff like this versus anything else. Like you said your hard earned versus industry’s. You should video some of your stuff with Ilya.

    • @scottcoleman7304

      Agreed. eye box is absolutely one of the biggest factors for me in a high end scope. I recently bought an ATACR 7-35 and man am I disappointed in the eye box. my Razor 27x is so much better eye box at all mag ranges not just max.

    Wouldn’t you thing the audible clocks the thicker the spleen the deeper lower tone and the thinner the higher pitched? I’m just trying to understand and make that thought known because you would think you want a deeper audible click than a higher due to rigidness

I noticed a post that said his Spuhr mount had mared his tube on his TT. I read the Spuhr installation pdf and it referred to applying Rosin to the tube? Do you prefer the PIC mounts versus the QR? I noticed that Ilya prefers Aadmount Mounts and does a youtube video on mounts. The TT525P will be on a Seekins Havak Bravo(KRG stock).

QD is nice and just as good as pic mount in my experience. I’ve never used rosin on my rings and never had issues with Spuhrs. Ilya has more personal reasons for not using Spuhrs than anything.

    The fact that you think dialing to 2 mils then getting back on the scope THEN dialing the last .3 mils is FASTER....is just wrong. It takes wayyyy too much thinking to say to yourself....
    "dial to 2.3, but stop at 2, then get on target, then finish dialing while paying attention to those .3 clicks" It would be faster to just dial to 2.3, it would take 1/10th of a second longer without all the nonsense.

      I’ve seen guys do it, but definitely not my recommendation. I couldn’t get the image super clear. Best to go with the ZCO or Razor 3 if you want a tier 1 scope for NRL22.

      @@Covertnoob5 seems like 90% of the shots are between 50-250yds... Just the once in awhile KYL at 25-35yd mark.
      Youd still pick the RZR G3 or ZCO over the TT?
      I thought the TT had a wider FOV, superior turrets and better glass is why I was leaning that way. Never actually seen a ZCO or a TT in person though which is the hardest part of the decision making process. Running a Cronus BTR G2 now and not real thrilled with its narrow FOV and the glass doesnt seem that special

    • @Covertnoob5
      @Covertnoob5  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@joemeier3644 so for the specific use case of NRL22 I’d take a ZCO over a TT and probably a razor 3 over a TT as well. Few things to consider, you’re going to want a lot of elevation travel with a 50yd zero. ZCO has more than a TT. The razor 3 parallax’s down to 10yds so a KYL rack at 35 you’ll be able to punch in to 36x and really see exactly what’s going on. Not stuck at 10x where you really can’t see much. Also, the razor 3 has a wider fov in my testing than the TT and ZCO. The widest of any scope I’ve tested actually. Glass is really really good as well. Yes TT has the best glass and turrets for sure. But are those going to things going to cost/gain you points compared to the ZCO or R3? No.

      I would disagree with that owning both. I don't know how a zcomp that isn't as good optically overall and is edged out in every category in glass and is not close in turret feel edged out a theta for PRS?

    • @Covertnoob5
      @Covertnoob5  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      UnRaT3Dx it’s not edged out in every category of glass, image distortion yes, but that’s not applicable to PRS really. We don’t spend that much time behind glass to notice. Color I and contrast I actually prefer the ZCO. If you compare both side by side you’ll notice the image of the ZCO a little more poppy and the TT a little less only because it’s presented as a more real color neutral image.
      Besides, no one needs TT or ZCO level glass to win. Ask all the guys wining with razors and bushnell. So putting glass quality at the top of a PRS scope isn’t smart.
      Also, if turrets are that important how are people winning matches with leupold, uso, and minox? The ZCO because it has a better eyepiece, is slightly easier to get behind at 15x.
      Reticle is probably the most important feature at this price point, and while a personal preference, I personally find the mpct2 better suited for PRS.
      Of course nothing wrong with the TT at all. I loved all of mine, but decided the ZCO was better for me.

    • @UnRaT3Dx
      @UnRaT3Dx 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Covertnoob5 I agree no scope wins matches.. a good shooter could win win with a Tasso from Walmart if it stayed working the whole match, but its not really about what wins you matches it’s about what is the better piece of equipment weather it makes you win or not. I really really strongly disagree on your assessment on the glass, I’ve had the z comp for for about a month now and it does not beat my Thetas in any category optically besides the fact at lower magnification the eyebox is slightly better and the image is presented not better but differently in its pop, but the thetas eyebox is better after 15 power and up and the resolution is hands down better in the theta, and that may be the most important part of glass and it’s theta is better at every mag range in resolution. The clarity is also better in theta, while image is poppy in zcomp the clarity in theta is with out a doubt better, especially in mirage and the detail in the theta is noticeably better and I can see things like bullet holes at 700 yards on paper that I can not see in my z comp, and once again in mirage the theta is really ahead of z comp in clarity. so to me the only thing z comp wins in anything looking through glass is the easier eyebox at low magnification, the glass is noticeably better on theta in seeing detail and especially at high power and way better performing in mirage. The only thing z comp wins in over the theta is eyebox at low mag and 2 features that are pretty much useless in locking turrets and illumination that shuts off, and that does not beat out the better glass and and far better turrets and from all the reviews I’ve seen from folks who have both I think you are the only person who has given z comp the edge over theta when it comes to glass, like you said and I agree the z comp has its own way of presenting an image as poppy but all around performing glass and detail and in the tough mirage condition which is key, the Theta does 100% edge z comp out. Not to mention parallax and field of view are also better in the theta. Z comp is world class and I would beat an old lady with a stick if she tried to take mine off my rifle, but the theta does edge z comp out and and I would definitely take the theta with better all around glass and better resolution and better detailed glass in general and especially better in mirage with the best turrets out there over a slightly easier eyebox at low mag and 2 features that to be honest don’t really matter, I never used my locking turret on any Schmidt I’ve owned and never had a turret roll, and self shut of illumination is not something that’s important on a scope.

    • @Covertnoob5
      @Covertnoob5  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      UnRaT3Dx I’m not saying the ZCO is better with glass overall, I’m simply saying the difference between the 2 isn’t not enough that I would consider it significant especially in a PRS perspective. The TT wins in certain glass categories yes.
      Sure the TT is better from 20x and above, but in PRS you should very rarely be at that much mag. Unless your Pynch and I don’t know it.
      And maybe auto illum off isn’t important to you but it is to me. I’ve had my illum turn on when flying to matches. And if you shoot a night match, it would also be one less thing to remember.
