At second phase, you can look at fiery dude's faces to tell where are they going to jump. I'm sure most of you guys already figured this out, but I believe somebody didn't so here u go ladses
Heads up, grab the "Lobber" weapon from the store for 4 gold for this fight. I was using the peashooter for HOURS trying to beat this, bought the lobber, and did it within 5 tries. It does far more damage, and the angle it shoots at allows you to hit the 2nd phase from any point on the screen rather than praying for a low cloud.

Tip: use the lobber for the 2nd and 3rd phase and mostly just stake it out from the top. The 3rd phase you have to kinda go in circles to manipulate the projectile directions, but just have patience and shoot from the top clouds when you can, cause it helps a lot to be able to shoot over the projectiles
The trick to the last stage is to not be fucking trigger-happy; those exploding fireball bubbles are what fucks you up most of the time. Plan those shots when you know there's no fireballs in your way, and you're clear of the flame attack in the middle. Stay on the top-most clouds so you avoid the flame attack. tl;dr *GIT GUD*
Grim matchstick for me was the worst boss the fucking bee took me a day and the bitchy mermaid was fetus deletus within about an hour but this dragon... this damn dragon took me almost 3 weeks of non stop playing to beat
So something must be wrong with my brain as I got this fight done within 25 minutes but dr Kahls toebot took me 40 minutes even though it's supposedly easier...
It comes later in the song, no? Most of the music in Cuphead works with the different boss phases, but since the phases themselves can vary a lot between players it can sometimes repeat a specific segment or skip it entirely. I noticed from listening to the OST a lot that it will not play the last part of the songs very often because it's repeating an earlier segment that takes more time than you actually beating the last phase. On this boss specifically the last phase of the song is really really awesome :D
Definitely my least favorite boss in cuphead. I've been stuck on him for days. I'll get all the way to the end of the 3rd phase and get hit by the cheapest, dirtiest, most annoying moves ever. I'll be hit by something off screen and die. I hate this boss. His design is cool tho
i dont understand why people complain about this boss, fr in my first playthrough i beated him after my 5th try, in my opinion this boss is pretty easy compared to some others in inkwell island 2, for example wally warbles gived me more challenge than him.
The devs have much to improve on this level the platforming is utter bullshit and the volume ratio the music completely drowns out the sounds of the fire sprites in the second stage and there needs to be an immunity after the super because sometimes it can drain your health out of nowhere

They also never jump straight up, so you know at least 1 place they'll never be

Pea shooter actually worked great for me on the last phase. I used the chaser for the rest then switched to the pea shooter and blasted that mofo.
