For other pix owners: if you touch slightly to the left instead of directly on the “buttons” it’s much more responsive. Pretty much touch a few millimeters left of where you think you should be touching.
I got this for Christmas! I love it, minus the buttons - maybe it's just mine but I have to press several times for them to work also the batteries tend to drain rather quickly. Super cute design, I love the purple and the little cat ears lol

With the sensor, it did get a lot of criticism, so the sensor for the blue and green ones (came as a second wave) as well as the party ones had them there, but improved and a lot easier to use. The battery thing is known too, taking pictures is pretty taxing on the battery. Very cosy video, appreciate the tiny bit of asmr tapping!

Way easier, those can die if you oversleep a few minutes on a weekend and a fly lands on them. Modern tamas usually have much higher tolerance to neglect.
You can't use the screen on this one, just the buttons which are sensitive as all get out. I do think on the Tamagotchi smart which is screen touch activated that a stylus woulf be perfect. I gotta remember to try that when I use my smart again!
My husband just bought one for our 8 year old and I'm so confused why he didn't get her one of the normal OG ones like we had lol. This seems like a pain in the butttttttt.

Try putting the brightness down, avoid using the camera too much, and if not needed, turn the sound off

U can buy new batteries but I got rechargeable ones so i didn't have to carry on buying new ones
