A full-length film that tells the 2006 Bionicle story in the form of stop motion. Picking up right where Bionicle: Mask of Light left off, we find the forces of good and evil seeking out the most powerful mask in existence, the Kanohi Ignika. Featuring the Piraka, the Toa Nuva, the Toa Inika, and locations such as Voya Nui, Karzahni, and Metru Nui.
Amount of individual photos taken are nearly 19,000. Filmed in 1696x954 resolution.

The major critic in me says that while some of the voice acting sounded amazing, a few weren't very good.
But truly, watching this was the most enthused and attentive I've ever been while watching something. Great work and I'm excited to see their work with the 07 story!

I think it's cool that some of the Piraka have Aussie voice actors! The original Bionicle movies mainly featured around American and British voice actors, but later on in Lego they began really expanding their international arsenal of voice actors. By Hero Factory we had Aussie voice actors in the forms of Nex and Fire Lord while we also saw a Jamaican Witch Doctor

I seriously waited years for Bionicle 4 and 5 as a kid but was so dissapointed that we never got it. The saga of Voya Nui and Mahri Nui are my most nostalgic Bionicle memories.

All of the Piraka voices are so entertaining and fit their nature really well. I especially loved Vezon, Zaktan, and Reidak’s, but they were all a highlight and had a very good script

As someone who lived off his whole childhood from the promos and the games rather than the books, Vezon always had this final boss mystique to him and seriousness that I hate to see broken by his later lore treatment as, precisely, just ANOTHER joker type 🙄🙄 it's fine that he is insane and clever but he IS the final boss of my favorite Bionicle year and to see that sacredness reduced to nothing gives me the ick.

Fantastic! The writing takes some liberties from the story, but it still manages to be fairly accurate. The voice acting was kinda mixed, some of the voices were great and some not so fitting. I thought Zaktan, Thok, Brutaka and Axonn had excellent voices and I enjoyed most of their lines. Takanuva's, Dume's and Lewa's voices didn't really fit their characters though, in my opinion. Still, it's clear that a lot of work went behind this. If you're indeed planning to make the 2007 story too, I'll be sure to watch.

@@deemcgann1695 I think he had an extra that was used for it, I see lacerations on the mask itself, and the clay looks pretty dry. I think he made it as a permanent 2006 karzani mask.

To me, the fact that the most iconic Bionicle villains, Piraka, were turned into simple worms, is the greatest travesty ever put on Bionicle.
The scenes with Karzahni were truly creepy and terrifying.

Lego should really watch this, they could see how awesome a movie for 2006 could have been.
Bionicle 2006, as well as 2007 and 2008, would have made the BEST movies of the franchise! It would also shed a lot of light on Voya Nui, which is probably the least-accurately-depicted location in Bionicle. In the 2006 commercials all we got was rain, a human-like atmosphere, fences, darkness. It was supposed to be a rough-and-tumble place but I mean jeez. 2006 was the year Bionicle tried to make things look too un-Bionicle and more human, at least in the aesthetics. I remember rumors going around in early 2006 that the story took place in OUR UNIVERSE, thus ‘Save the Band’ and human objects that appeared in the commercials

I decided not to make that, these huge films take way too much time to make and i'm kinda burnt out on them. Instead I'm developing a new original lego series, I'm hoping to get a few episodes out this summer.

But that makes since because I can tell thing like this are very time consuming but in my opinion it’s worth it in the end.
No its not Bionicle related, just lego stop motion. It is based on some past stuff I've done with Ronald McDonald as he is the main antagonist. I like how Karzani, who has never heard of bionicle terms such as “Mata Nui” and “Makuta”, can perfectly pronounce all of them, but Gali, an experienced Toa, can’t even pronounce her brother’s name.

Miramax ... Why did you leave us so early? They stopped before the most interesting moment and we will never see how it all looked like a movie. I've always wanted to know how the already cool piraka's would look even cooler in the movie, but alas ...
This is one of the most epic things that I've had the chance to voice/work in, especially showing off the amazing lore of the original Bionicle line up. (Also, kind of enjoying that my character made the thumbnail, LoLz.) I hope to audition and be a part of more projects.
This is a joy to watch! It tells the 2006 story clearly and in good detail, whilst still remaining witty and hilarious at times. I congratulate you for not only the quality of the film but also the huge amount of effort you must have put in to make this. I know from experience that full length stop motions are a pain to make and this one is nearly two hours, which is incredible! All of the effort has paid off because this is, to put simply, outstanding.
BTW, when will the auditions be for more voice actors in the sequel because I'm interested in voicing one of the new characters.

It’s been a long time since i’ve watched this bad boy or even since i logged into this account. Looking back on myself in this project is like looking at a whole different person. Only it’s just you looking at yourself in the mirror of your kid-self.
This project was my first voice acting role. I did these lines when i was about 13-14 years old recording them in my parents garage on my iphone and most of them im pretty sure were all one take! (As a few of you pointed out in the comment section 😂)
Jala/Jaller was one of if not my favorite character in the Bionicle Story that Lego, Greg Farshtey, and Christian Faber created. To be given the opportunity to voice him was a dream let alone contributing to a project that was capturing the 2006 story that got me into the Bionicle brand as a young child. Jala/Jaller is a character that was always sure of himself and had a strong sense of purpose whether it was leading the Ta-Koro defences as the Mataron Captain of the Guard or working on a Toa team. He never questioned his sense of duty and to do good which is something im sure we all can take from.
This film brought friends and I together new and old to audition. The actor that played Matoro and I are still very close friends to this day. The talent that was brought on was beyond next level! It made us sound like chumps working along side absolute pros. Everyone here was perfectly casted and I stand by that. And I don’t believe in “perfect castings” but this stands as by far the best candidate.
The name Mura translates to Flame. While the fan base and the brand just like Mata Nui may be a diminishing flame it’s always projects like this that keeps Bionicle alive and well just as much as it was back then to those that were always invested in it. While a G3 might be nice it’s really the community that’s the heart and soul of Bionicle. The fans are the ones that keep the flame burning.

Reprising/redubbing the lines is something I often think about after (at least feeling) like i’ve lived a full life and having much more acting experience since this but it’s nice to look back on the young Bionicle fan of me having fun playing one of his favorite characters.

That was such a good movie. It's a shame that this never became an actual movie. It would have really been nice to get the Island of Doom as the fourth Bionicle Movie in 2006. I didn't realize just HOW much work you had put into this until the credits: all those voice actors, the people working on the effects, the equipment you used. Really blew my mind, and I hope you can harness all of them again for the next Ignition movie :D.

Between the greenscreening, stop motion, audio, and everything else, I can see why this took so long. Oh Mata Nui, what can I say? This is epic! Props to everyone who lent their voice to this magnificent project. BionickeN17, you play a mean Hakann. ToaOfUltimateDoom, fantastic work as Vezok, and... There's just too much to say, I love everything. I'm glad I was able to play everyone's favorite Great Being serial-killer :P I can't wait for Ruins of the Lost. When you open auditions, expect me to be ready with several voices for various Barraki, Matoran, and probably Teri as well. Again, well done, good sir. Well done. God has truly blessed you.

This continues right from the actual Bionicle film "Mask of Light" so well! I've now seen both Ignition movies you made; phenomenal! I've always been a bit confused on the whole story, only knowing a vagueidea of events. Thanks for deciding to continue it for all of us in such a great way to consume. There were a a few moments and lines from the books I would've liked to see (mainly Takanuva telling Jaller not to die again), but having the Piraka's fears be personal ones instead of an urban legend was genius. Props to you guys for that!

The toa Inika are a lot more friendly to each other than the Toa Mata/Nuva and Metru were. I'm sure it helps that they started out as friends who overcame many hardships together prior. The Toa Mata/Nuva seemed to hate each other for most of 2002 and the Toa Metru were constantly ripping on all of Vakama's decisions (even though none of them would contribute much to the decision making themselves).

So many memories, I remember getting this book at the library as a kid, building a Zaktann set I got while my mom was getting her car fixed, and getting the Bionicle Heroes game as a reward for sitting through a ballet performance my sister was in. I'm so happy some people took the time to make this.
