Remember she has a split personality problem thats why she sounded like a child sometimes in the old game but by now her fragmented data is a bit more stable allowing her to retain a more normal personality however the stress of battle can affect her negatively and make her swing around so she wears the mask still to help her. The candy was also part of what help her personality stabilize before
it's kind of weird that these two lovers in the past were supposed to be scientists, but now they have totally different personalities and became insane fighters

I havent played strive yet, is it true that aria wasnt really back? Was it a failed attempt to bring her back? Been a long time since i played xrd but i thought the ending was that aria's back.

Every time I see the pose, I just wonder how her spine is still functional. Like, Jesus Christ, that’s a pose you do NOT want to get decimated in, or say goodbye to the top half of your body’s bones.
It is mostly just polish all around but the hair color change helps a lot with making her silhouette stand out, and the crack in the halo makes the spins more obvious and make her just a bit more interesting.

I like how her biggest design change was just swapping the hair color palette, and it works really well. She used to be almost entirely white, but the red helps make her look have more to it
The animations didn't even need to be changed, they're that good. The only difference is that the quality is a lot better, but Jack-O has always looked really good. Arc System's Works knew not to mess with Jack-O and certainly did an excellent job.

I wasn't aware of the character until now, but I think as far as design goes I like the blonde one more, especially with the mask on by default. Adds a bit of playful spookiness that blends well with the animations I think. Im not into ladies but I have to say she has a really cute shape too! Good job to the artist(s)!
Makes sense on a lore standpoint tho her personality is stabilizing so her child like demeanor is disappearing she now doesn't even need sweets to keep her adult persona anymore

The change I like most about Jack-O's design in Strive is how her face looks more mature now to convey her as an older woman Slightly longer face, slightly smaller eyes and light amount of lipstick. Also, redheads are awesome EDIT: GODDAMN IT, PEOPLE! Of course I am aware that its an art style change! What part of my comment did I ever suggest that its a time skip and not a change of design?!
it's mostly the Strive art style change as a whole but what he says is true in her particular case. others body type changed and almost everyone looks thicker or more muscular but Jack-O' particularly stands out because her voice actress drastically changed to a more calm collected new actress and for her face yeah there's definitely a greater change here than others. I wouldn't say that's lipstick though. the rosy part of her lips I meant. that's more the new Strive art style at work.
So, they inverted the colors of her hair, put some cracks on her halo thingy, made her thighs bigger, eyes green, skin more pinkish, and made her mask removable. Not bad from a visual design standpoint. It's neat how the character's designs evolve as this series progresses. Then again, that's technically every fighting game or game series in general. Still though, good attention to detail.
