I like how the characters are growing and changing as the series goes along. The Universal Will didn't make Elphelt with the idea of her living any kind of life for her self nor did the creatures from the Backyard have much experience with Human emotions so the result was that the marriage crazed Elphelt was a bit of a mess. Elphelt is still a romantic and she's still a little obsessed with that but she has her own interests now besides that and other things she wants to live for that have helped even her out a little more. The irony is that I think this cool rocker girl who is brave enough to go out and sing in front of other people is a lot more appealing of a marriage candidate than a weirdo who runs around in a wedding dress and falls head over heels for every stranger they meet. Like, you might actually want to get to know Elphelt now where as before if you actually think about how she was she'd probably just be kind of off putting if not downright scary. I really like the new direction.

Describing most GG characters with just words can sound, rather intriguing to non-GG fans. "Hot witch with a guitar as a weapon" "Big booba samurai with one arm, one eye and is a heavy smoker" "A very sleepy guy strapped to a sentient bed with several blades" "Literal god with ADHD who decides to use *g u n* because it was super funny"
I like the new design, much more than the old, but i understand why people would prefer the old one (not that i am trying to convince anyone of not liking the old one). But i feel this new one encapsulates Elphelt's growth, her obsession with marriage was/is in a way a need to affirm herself in this world, she is a (to put in simple therms) homunculus, made with more than a little malicious intentions. When you look at her idle animation of her sleeping you see the way she stands, in the old one she was "prim and proper" making herself small, now she is all goofy and relaxed. The simpler design is her shedding some unnecessary parts from her, keeping certain things but changing some of her approaches. Mind you... i am not really a player of the game, I just really like the lore, design and the music.

I do wish that there was a way to unlock Elphelt's wedding outfit in Guilty Gear Strive. It's not that I don't like her pop star motif, I just think someone fighting in a wedding outfit, while fighting someone who uses a rifle that fires bullets made from her love, is a very original idea. Plus, I do love both her design and intro in in Xrd 2.

Like Elphelt having costumes based on her 2014 Wedding Costume and her 2015 Wedding Costume, in addition to each of them having alternate colors. The same thing applies to all the returning characters of course.

While she’s shredding unnecessary things about her and wanting to find a part for herself in this world, I kinda wish she at least kept certain design traits from her previous interaction. While the bunny ears aren’t exactly necessary, they are one of the defining parts of her design, plus it does make sense when you consider her whole marriage craze thinking that she also has.
