Hi Greg another fantastic video bro you make it look so easy you almost make me want to do it, but I'm too old now. I'd like to thank you for being so informative and honest.
You could do with the other attachment for that pole with the U end and rachet strap, always a go to for heavier jobs and they are rated higher, that attachment is quite easy to bent as I've found a few times now
It seems there was a bit more space for the other two in hi-vis two climb a little further up there own keister. Interesting video, thanks for sharing.
Just one comment from me please! Would the towing hook be facing upwards not down as you placed it, it reduces the chances of being pulled out under strain as it's against the eye and not the hook????
08:30, that womble at the rear was watching you, not the traffic, standards are slipping dangerously... weld a hook - shaped lump of 3 inch wide bar onto the back of the winch, chuck that bit on the top bar of your adaptor to take the weight whilst you wiggle the pins in below [yeah, no back left at all now for me...]
Sadly never had that problem on smart motorways don't envy you at all it was bad enough on the hard shoulder those were the days stay safe pal you and all your crew on the motorway bad place to be any time
@@WhereTheWildlings-vr9kp If that was the case I would’ve retired early instead of getting a new job. 😂 Had to do far too many statutory recovery’s to remember. I can assure you though, We were always thankful when the drivers own recovery arrived first. The quicker I was off the carriageway the better
The photos are two-fold. They are good media content, but they also are evidence if anything happens. "Well here is what the car looked like before I towed it, so no I didn't damage it" "What do you mean I didn't have cones or lights out? Here's the proof".
Whats with snatching jobs from one another, i dont get it? You went to rescue as a private (the customer called you, and the highway maintanence guys wanted to rescue (or their partners?) As well, and its a matter of who gets there first?)
Highways can gets bonuses if they rescue you, in some scenarios. Plus, they charge you way more than any local breakdown company does, so their agency as a whole benefits. You don't want Highways to do anything but close the road when necessary. Do not rely on them to tow you or recover you under any circumstances. Especially because half of them can't even do the road-closing bit correctly. Highways really are a mixed bag. Half are super nice and do their jobs well, the other half are complete and utter numpties who either have no clue what they're doing, or are total jobsworths and won't deviate from their training textbooks once bit, regardless of what the situation actually is.
You could see the disappointment on the traffic wombles faces. No back hander of the statutory recovery for them today!
Oh man, the charges they were gonna lay on us were insane!

Loving all these videos again greg, would definitely like to see some tyre changing also mixed in like the old days, love it🤟🙂👍
We are liking these weekly videos keep them coming 👍 little billy just got video loaded up for us to watch 👍👍👍👍
I do think an IPV (vehicle with a crash cushion at the back) should be used even if the vehicle broke down on the hard shoulder.
You work that poor gearbox 😂
That was unbelievably quick to get going, especially on a motorway.

Great video again and love your winch bracket it’s like mine 😳 and mine fits the front as well 👍🏻🤩
The traffic officer tooks his job very serious 🤣🙈 Like the content as always! 👍

Great video Greg. A bit of everything in this one even a sneaky peak at the R8
That looks like an AA tow pole lol Vauxhall End attachment
I see the f450 is reserved, sad not to see anymore content with that one in ,but gives you some £££ for old faithful (daf) project👍👍👍👍
It's us! Thanks again for saving us matey :D
Thank you for the video content! 😉🤪
A pain in the arse when there's nothing metal to stick the magnetic lights to 😆😆😆
Does GTW apply for recovery ? Not doubting that the disco would pull and stop it OK at those speeds

Nice bit of F450 action 😃
Nice job Greg like to watch the recovery jobs
Nice bit of F450 action
Good job done mate 👍
I get the tyres done as well that I phone you about In telford 👍
I fink the winch looks great . Stay safe matey .
Nice Rear winch set up!
Imagine straight baring a 3.5T Luton with a trailer on off a smart motorway without attaching a safety strap to the straight bar lol 🤣
imagine closing a live carriage way lane with some tiny cones and no directional arrows with worklights blinding approaching vehicles in the dark haha
Get some synthetic rope on that winch, it's fairly cheap now and it'll make it a lot lighter for your back 👍
Have you got a rear view camera on the Disco? Also, had you considered getting a Discovery Commercial = the official van version?
Loft highways England are a chatty bunch 🤪
Where did you get that recovery pole ?
Intertrade make them
Sadly never had that problem on smart motorways don't envy you at all it was bad enough on the hard shoulder those were the days stay safe pal you and all your crew on the motorway bad place to be any time
I didn't know you had a LDH Vehicle!
l once towed a friend's car with a pole 6 miles got a 100yards + from is house and the eye snapped
Nice jobs Greg!
Nice Discovery
No class 3 hi viz?
I am in hospital tonight whiching your vlog
'ey up Greg 😎
Traffic Officers weren't very talkative, were they?
They wanted to do a stat recovery (for which they get some lovely bonuses I should imagine!)

@ashboxhead6929 How does that work highways officer will ring a firm too even though customer has one on the way?
Whats with taken all the photos and follow my land-rover like he had a option

I thought “smart” motorways where scrapped?
