I enjoyed this trip back in time. My Mum and Uncle worked there and up to recently I still had my Mum's two pocket apron. The Christmas party was really looked forward to. The present I remember was a projector type thing that you had slides for. It was always my Gran's contribution to knit me an angora bolero until I thought I was too old! I also remember my cousin doing a magic show. The music was of the time as I remember Nina and Frederick singing 'Little donkey. I think I still have some photos. Thank you for the memories.
My father worked in courtaulds for 5 years in the mid to late 70's and ICI from 1967 to 1972 Carrickfergus was a great place to live. Even though I live live in Australia I still miss Carrickfergus and it's people and its people Matthew Steele
I remember Wednesday mornings going to primary school during the 70's and the pong that used to envelope the town from whatever process they did at Courtaulds!
In 1983 I worked with five former employees of this factory on a contract in Follonica, Italy. They were lead burners and one was Sammy Martin from Charles Legge Drive, but I only remember the first names of the others. Wilbur from Larne, John, Bob and Ray. I would love to hear from them again. Peter from N Wales.

On no, I am sad. He was 41 when I knew him and looked so fit and healthy. He was a nice man. Thank you for telling me.
