There is a interactive map named "icarusintel" that shows where caves are, possible exotic veins (not to be confused with exotic nodes that are found in caves) and shows where deep veins are (not what type of vein meaning it shows the location not what type of deep ore vein it is as its randomly generated each map) but it might help find the veins
Another Tipp: you can leave carcasses inside the skinning bench, they will not rot. Infinite fresh meat 😊
At this point I usually start husbandry, once you get to iron you can unlock and make the food and water trough, and the basic animal bed and saddles at the ranching station. Having a Terrenus or moa for travel really makes things so much faster, or a buffalo for a mining trip. Especially once you level up their inventory and stamina (yes, they now get experience and have their specific talent trees)
As for Scoria, that's a material that's only available on Prometheus, you'll have no use for it on Olympus.
Tip - only put what is needed in the drop pod. Anything over that, take it out of the pod. All those extra id markers could have been used, the next time you do that mission.
Hey GE. Love seeing Icarus again. Made me want to jump into an ongoing map again. I think the small cave with the exotic vein, I think I saw two iron in there that the torch barely displayed. Might have been just one. Exotic veins were added a while ago to normal caves here and there in rare places. Always a nice surprise to find some in a humble little cave. It's like pulling up for your morning Timmies and finding out that the person ahead of you paid for yours too. lol. Keep up the grind. Fun vids!

You could have just lead the little horse and later tame it for your ride. Making it more easy for you to travel along the map and later carry song of the animals you've hunted.
this game is alot better than most of the other games you play full series of. i really hope you focus on this game more theres tons of content and its entertaining to watch. this should definitely be 50 episodes or more series
Love the content!!! Can relate to the animal-related scares lol. One thing that saved me countless times from bear encounters was jumping in deep water swimming backwards and just spamming the knife. I usually get the kill without a scratch.
Long time fan. This new playthrough inspired me to start playing Icarus again. This game has unnaturally dark shadows and does not have the ol' gamma test like games used to have. Consider looking at the Gamma settings. Try setting your gamma to 2.7. Love you buddy.
Hey buddy get the shovel you can start growing food with the mound option totally worth the point,there is a iron shovel in tier 2. The dirt foundation in tier1 will help level the buildings. dirt is dug anywhere very strong fireproof buildings wood floor can go on top. Get a sponge in the water it is a free water canteen. You can water dirt mounds with any water container

You need the cave worm stuff to make the cave worm bow. Which is really good
The caveworm vestige can be mounted - use the trophy bench. Mounted trophies give cosiness bonus when deployed near your bed.
The stripes on the caveworm trophy glows in the dark. Handy to mark doors/gates etc if you need something to guide you in the dark.
Trophies (need the taxidermy knife) and rugs give cosiness bonus's - the well rested bonus you get from sleeping is increased and a good 'free' bonus.
You could make a hunting stand and draw animals in with a dead animal.

You water is in your herbalist bench when you created the dough for your flatbread because it required for water.
Did you set you bed for your spawn point?
There's the lantern you can research. And I think exotics appear once you unlock that part in the tree.
I believe I have seen closed cave at the very beginning of your game or your first base, don´t remember anymore, but it was there.
You should spend more time actually looking for the cave, not everything else :P and i would recommend a MOA or the Buffolo pet to carry more ore and move faster

Your murder horse may have fallen through the world (not so likely), but may also have fallen to the bottom of the waterfall. You'll never know if you don't look...
'Parked' mounts may fall through the world, so they are best kept on floors/foundations. Earth foundations work fine.

For your ID collection mission: Notice the yellow circle on your compass - that's the area to head for. When you are in the area, the compass gains a yellow background (matching the area circle.).

You are growing wheat. Have you not seen all the wheat growing by your house?
The wheat in the crop plots will wither. There is a talent in the farming tree to prevent that, but it's near the bottom.
Your drying rack filling up? Craft a new one. They are a handy place to put stuff.

The seeds only go into the seed pouch when it’s on your hot bar
1:08:55 a bit further south of that geyser is a cave (I think), it’s hiding behind a ridge of rocks. I only managed to find it because I was following the cliff looking for caves
Burning roofs defy gravity in Icarus. But woe betide you if you don't use/build in proper support when constructing.
Make stairs, too
How about building a hunting blind across the water where there are many animals?
Bee trees can bee taken out with the bow.

save your charcoal and iron ore for steel once you get recipe. you will need lots of them.
There is already a marker on your HUD. How did you get off so easy. I attacked a nest and three swarms attacked me and kept attacking me as a ran until they got me down. They even took out the Wolf that got involved. When I went back for my stuff they were still waiting. The Pig is saying, I don't know where your kids are lady. Ask the dude in the space suit.
Built the fabricator last play through, started the game and BAM it and all the resources I used for it gone.
Now we understand why those animals hate you so much, your killing their babies 😂😅😊
Why not build a bridge to the other side to make it easier for travelling back and forth without having to swim and worry about the carnivore fishes or stamina issues?

I find it really ridiculous to open armour pieces and weapons and building blocks individually... 1 point per masonry bench that cant do anything until you spend another 2 points for walls... ridiculous
you are not that far from ice, maybe build a cooler and a salter?
