I appreciate your explanation you gave at the end about how you got the van and your appreciation for it. I love watching your vlogs and vlogs by your family and friends. I know you all work very hard and many of you have been very frugal and have touched a little bit on your budgeting in the past. I've always felt a connection to all of you because you just seem very genuine. I have to say, lately, I had been feeling a bit of a disconnection because of all of the extravagant things going on. For you it's the house, traveling, Bonnie's house, April and Davey's traveling and crazy awesome yard etc...Though I know you have all worked hard and have earned these things and I am super happy for you all, I feel it gives off the wrong impression. I don't want people to get the impression that they can just film themselves and rake in the dough, because, for most people, you cant make a living off of youtube. I love your work ethic and think it would be so cool if you did a segment specifically on how you've been able to do everything you do so people feel encouraged to do it for themselves in their own way. I am a an instructor and work with people daily on self sufficiency and would love for people to have realistic expectation for how they can live the life they want. I hope this came across how intended and not upset, because I really do have a lot of respect for you and the other youtubers in your lives! :)
there are quite a few youtubers who talk about their journey on youtube and how they have got to where they are today, i can't remember who specifically bit if you type in like youtube journey or something then you'll find something, but i think it would be cool if E & J did a little video or segment about their youtube journey and how they got to where they were, i know that nowadays alot of young people probably do think that they can make a living off youtube easily and sometimes they might just have to learn the hard way but i guess thats part of life, but yeh there should be more videos on this kinda thing :)

TRUE STORY: Life is all about perspective really. It is. You should be happy for Ellie and Jared regardless of if they were given it. I've been talking to my husband about having a new car and feeling a little jealous about everyone I know having new cars. I just keep thinking at least I don't have a payment. But, a car that's newer then 10 years would be nice. I believe in God. So I asked him to give me a different perspective. Well, a day later I busted my mirror off pulling out of my garage. I didn't have a vehicle for 3 days while it was getting repaired. Pretty thankful for that car now. Plus, things could always be worse. Life isn't really about shiny things, or new stuff. That's not what leaves the earth with you. Just remember, to be thankful for the things YOU have and happy for others! We all have had wonderful things happen to us! I know I have. I like to be happy for others, because happiness breeds happiness.

Who is to say that their car is working properly? I believe they have had their struggles just like everyone else. If you were given the chance to get a new car like this you would be excited too to show it off. If you want a bigger and better life style then strive for it. They obviously have worked to get where they are. Going from living in apartments, driving an old Camry for 10 years with 2 small children to now building a new house and getting a new car. They definitely weren't just handed everything in life is what I'm getting at. Like I said, work hard, go back to school if you have to but don't be that person to get jealous because of what other people have.
What I have recently noticed about E+J is how they don't share much with the viewers anymore, they always want to "surprise" now! They don't tell things as they are anymore. TH-camrs are humble to their viewers when they are struggling and when they achieve success, they keep their viewers in ambiguity.
I miss the old Ellie and Jared from their first rental home. Jared came home from work, Ellie walked to her job at the salon. Much more genuine and real then.

These comments are so so hateful. I work 9-5 have a steady income and can afford to have a car payment and mortgage payment. Being self employed like Ellie and Jared comes with disadvantages and advantages, they have no insurance plan through work, if a video doesn't have as many views they take a cut, etc.. What they do - in my mind is what a small percentage of the world can do- they put their life on TH-cam, for everyone to see. The hateful comments here should add up to a free van. (IF it was free, you all do not know for sure so why even assume it?) I'm sure seeing these comments and then tomorrow having to get up and act like they haven't seen them is going to be a hard thing to do.
