Excellent Video - enjoyed seeing this Wizzair experience! What an incredible approach to Larnaca. It has been crazy to see Wizzair's expansion during this Pandemic, but also great for regional airports such as Dortmund or Doncaster here in the UK. Haven't flown with Wizzair and with their reputed legroom, not the most exciting airline but one I think we will see more and more often in European Airspace.
Thanks a lot! Yes but most of that expansion is driven by radical low fares and promos. This rpute was announced just 6 weeks before we flew and they still filled the aircraft by selling tickets super cheap. I actually think it might be a good choice for them to offer cheap flights to various destinations despite covid.. People have no choice other than flying Wizz and might eventually like them.. Quite a good strategy to gain market share.. And as you said great chance for regional airports. Dortmund has a lot of people living within one hour of the airport.. Probably one of the regional airports with the most people living in its area.. Some new routes were much needed. Wizz mainly operates leisure routes from the DTM base and I think that might be a success due to the lack of holiday airlines in Germany after airberlin and Germania went bust and Condor struggles
