Figured I would share. I run an industrial CNC router, and it's old. 1999, OS (FANUC) last updated 1994.
It took me 2 months with all the manuals to learn how to run this thing, hunt down specific parameters in the 900+ page parameter manual, etc. etc. (we bought it used and I had to figure it out from scratch)
Well, I have PDFs of all the manuals.
I haphazardly threw them into NotebookLM and I immediately asked it a really granular question about a specific parameters for controlling RS232 Baud rate - immediately answered me, and one of the 3 things it brought up when I asked was the exact answer I was looking for.
Excited to find even more uses for this! Thanks for the vid!

For creative writing, this seems like a great tool. I'm able to import my outlines and character notes to get an idea of what the AI thinks about my story. That gives me a fairly decent idea of how well the ideas are getting across.
Obviously some decisions just dont translate, but I figure if AI can understand what I'm trying to do, the average person probably will too.

The Audio Overview feature is very impressive indeed, I also find that uploading a lot of sources make the "podcast" wierd. The wierdness is when it tries to make connections between the sources. When I upload a paper, and article, an assignment or whatever, the podcast feature is VERY good at finding new (to me hidden) contexts and perspectives.

1:34 I would love to have my virtual assistant help me with this also. However, when I tried it the podcast sometimes anonymized important details out of the story so it was no longer useful to me as a news feed. @BlazingZebra  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

i don’t know of a way to do that easily. it would take some transcription (descript), translation (chatgpt or claude) text to voice (eleven labs or ditto) editing (descript)

    Thanks for comprehensive overview.
NotebookLM's capabilities are absolutely impressive. I would be interested to know whether you can read emails directly from a mailbox. I write a lot, in the form of emails.
What I would also be very interested to know is that I keep a grid diary every day, with multiple columns, handwritten, and quite complex. Is there an AI that can read complex handwritten notes and digitize them in the given format grid?
Maybe somebody can give me a hint. Thanks

    • @BlazingZebra
      @BlazingZebra  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

uploading a photo to chatgpt might work but the columns might cause trouble. make.com is good for connecting email to ai but unfortunately notebooklm has no api and cannot connect to email or other things.

Maybe the tech has changed in the last month, but now you can directly upload youtube links, and it does the transcription for you, so you don't need to separately transcribe them

    • @BlazingZebra

I am using Notebooks LM for a case I am litigating in Federal District Court. I am having it read depositions, it creates factual summaries. I want the output to be the same each time it reads a deposition, and when it produces the output (the Courts want individually numbered paragraphs, and specific references behind it to the source documents by page and line). How can I teach it that when I ask for something by name ("Create Factual Summaries of key facts for 'Statement of Facts,' and I need the notebook to always do that. I see somewhere you can "code" for output.

Can you use the OUTPUT Audio and generation commercially?
We cant find anything on this, if you feed it your own data and it creates the Audio Podcast - Who owns it? We asked AI's this question on commercial useage and it says "part of Google Workspace, it's likely that standard Google Workspace terms of use apply, which generally restrict using the platform’s outputs for commercial sale or redistribution without permission"
