Fallout 4 - Meeting Vault-Tec Representative 200 Years Later

- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 10 พ.ย. 2015
- The Vault-Tec Representative survived the war but became a ghoul due to radiation. Since then, he has taken up residence in Goodneighbor and can be found in Hotel Rexford. From there, you can convince him to move to Sanctuary, as long as you have a high enough Charisma stat.

That guy is the only reason why your alive this whole game.
iixLying damn bro that’s true
Wow your actually right felt bad for the guy he was working there for 20 years they just let him die and you can tell he's lonely
What if you say No?? I'm also sure that when you went up to the gate to get in the vault during the nuclear attack they didn't let you in because you signed, they let you in because you had a baby
Yaaa I guess that is true
@@mas7rreaper126 you cant if you say no Nate if your a girl or nora if your a guy will tell you to sigh it. If you say no again they will just say sigh it again. And you will have too.
Ironic. He could save others, but not himself.
Junk Stewy is it possible to learn this power?
Hello there
AntacidFish Not from a smoothskin...

He’s Jesus
I cannot even remember my birthday and this guy remembers a random person that he first met 200 years ago.

To be honest, I always thought his reaction to suggesting him to go to Sanctuary was kind of adorable. I'd totally be his friend, he doesn't look too bad, even as a ghoul.
i mean, compared to other people and other ghouls. I'd hit it...
he doesn’t look to bad huh well try playing fallout 4 to a 480p resolution monitor screen

I’d hit daisy. And the vault 88 overseer too.
@@tuantani8480 i would definitely hit the vault 88 overseer, you wanna hit her together?
i was here
Nah, I’m good. Aint gonna let myself seeing another dude’s shotgun
He's such a sweetie pie. If you visit him at Sanctuary and respond to him non-sarcastically about giving him a job, he says "This is the best thing to happen to me since... since the worst thing to happen to me!"
Poor guy, always wanted to give him a hug.
I was sad when I saw Cait doesn't like him either. I am conflicted.
I was thinking the same thing . Very unfair, what happened to him
the guy I have seen most off, beside my butt ugly wife (Inn game ofc. I made her ugly because I could, honestly it has no impact on lore) I ended upp not playing the game to much, but rather see all the funny names codsworth could give me, alreaddy have around.... 10 - 11 houers just fucking around the start ground, but I plan on playing the game for sure..... even tough I prefered new vegas, I am a bit conflicted, some things are worse, but alot is better at the same time inn fallout 4, I ended upp finding a few bugs the only time I got past the vault :P
You should've seen him in metal gear solid.
But you wouldn't
For 200 years he did a pretty good job keeping that suit intact as well as his sanity.

He should prolly clean it
How did his hat not fly off? That's my question. The bomb had very strong winds that even the strongest man alive couldn't hold that hat on his head.
This guy is one of the few genuinely gracious characters in the game. He’s very near and dear to my heart:
Ikr? He always gets so excited to see me and is so grateful, it’s so sweet.
I wish Arlon Glass didn't wander off.
its kind of neat if you think about it. I think he's that way intentionally because he was around before the bombs fell.
5:42 “How would you like a job? Just… make sure it goes better than your last one.”
🥲 idk why but I love that little line. He has so much passion and finds purpose in work, and the very person he saves 200 years ago finally gives him a job he deserves; and this time NOT working for a corporation that will throw him under the bus!
Vault-Tec didn’t even put him on the damn list... he was so nice, this is heart breaking...
The Empire loves their damn lists

Haha shut the fuck up
This comment is hilarious.

I was just thinking that 😮
It's canon that the West coast had already been it a while before the East. He very likely DID know.
More likely there was just a lot of impending media buzz about impending nuclear war. If the missiles had ACTUALLY been launched, he wouldn't have been taking days to get in contact with you.
Also, don't think the TV would have been talking about the World Series.
Also, if you watch the show,
[Spoilers Ahead]
He might've even gotten a notification considering all the bombs were an inside job. A notification that asked him to hurry and enroll as many "guinea pigs" as possible.
@@ncr_official_2189 The Vault Rep knew nothing about the vault sinister experiement, same as the guard outside and the US army personals. My theory about who drop the bombs in the first place is China. While Vault Tec was planning to drop it some point in the future, i think China beat them to it since you can encounter vaults that still haven't finished yet, plus most of the employee didn't even knew about the nuclear war till it's too late.

This guy got backstabbed from his own company, and still manages to remember who the individual is 200 years later.
I think it's safe to say you were the last person who had the forms filled out and probably one of the few that answered the door on him. I think the other people in front turned him away.

I wanna cry... man is the reason we are alive but couldn’t save himself, if you meet him again and didn’t help him you have no soul :’/
Well actually he didn't do too bad. He survived the war and the aftermath for over 200 years. He's now a ghoul meaning he's essentially immortal and immune to radiation and disease. He must be doing ok for himself as he can afford a room at the Rexford. His only real complaint seems to be he misses having someone to talk to that he knew from before the war (not sure why he considers you such a person as he spoke to you for all of two minutes, it's not like you were his best friend or anything) and he also is depressed because he doesn't have much opportunity to put his sales talents to work in the wasteland.

One of the saddest story ever. He was alone with no friends or family. All alone with literally no one to talk to, no one to be there with. When he said "you promise you'll come visit" I teared up. He was just holding on to the bits and pieces of happiness from the past and hoping that you'd be one of them. So sad.

Vault-Tec guy is all of us. Just trying to do the best good he can, gets screwed by his company, depressed at his failures, eager to please and help out, and he still has spirit and energy.
Respect for Vault-Tec guy
How can he still be a "Vault-Tec Rep" in profession, surely in 200 years of survival he needed to become a good survivalist.
I'm just confused how he's accumulated 200 years of Vault-Tec sales experience in the post-bomb world while simultaneously admitting to having been alone for so long.
@@shooby9496 Apparently, he tried to uses his skills of a salesman after the bomb. We all know he went from various communities, squatting temporary in those places before leaving due to be mocked by his appearance.

What he didn't know is that all vaults had cruel evil experiments so maybe not being invited to one actually saved his life.
+ibr gue Not 100% of the Vaults though, some where normal with no crazy experiments in em,and some could have turned out like V.81 where the Overseer didnt follow the Vault-Tex mission,Vault 101 was entirely bad either even if it was built around a dictator system.
+ghekor The odds of being in a normal vault are not in his favor and to the other guy, vault 111 was experimenting on how to use cryo technology as a weapon.
Overseer had order to kill anyone who wasn't on the list after cryo phase. It was in the terminal
+ibr gue bit of a spoiler:
When you get inside kellogg's memories, you can tell that vault-tec would leave everyone alive. the only reason why everyone died was because they were loose ends that the institute didn't want
Makes since some lowly rep wouldn't know much of the company's true intentions, as that information would have been restricted to the higher ups and only as many as needed to know. Though it did seem like the rep knew when the bombs were going to fall, so idk
If you look closely, right before he leaves for Sanctuary, he SMILES for a second. It is so adorable. This guy probably hadn't smiled in years.
I feel so bad for this guy, he needs to be hugged. He was a honest, hard-working man, hired as a low-ranking employee in Vault-Tec and didn't know the reality behind the company. Vault-Tec kept their nefarious deeds secret, out of reach of most of the employees, and this man became an unfortunate victim.

HE TOUCHED MY HEART SO MUCH WHEN I MET IN HOTEL REXFORD, BLESS
I really Feel bad for this person. His life is pretty darn tragic.
It makes me sad that people in fallout hate ghouls... I treat them as best as the game's let me. I would give them a hug if I could, and make them feel like they have a proper friend
I shoot them in the face. ALL OF THEM!
It's because they'll go cereal one day so everyone hates them
The reason why they probably go feral eventually is because they loose their minds, and nobodly really cares about them....
I have many settlements with ghouls and I treat them like a proper person like anyone else. If someone says something about it I punch them.
You would hate ghouls too. Most are just as hostile to humans as humans are to them and they think they deserve the best for being able to survive for such a long time. Also a little radiation could make them go insane.
Initiate Clarke? Is that you?
I feel so bad for this guy. Poor guy is practically a sentient zombie at this point. All because the bastards at Vault Tec wouldn't let him in. Even Aperture Science wasn't that much of a dick to their employees.
Sure, of course its much better that your boss gives total control of a investigation lab to a psychotic machine... xD
BioClone Well, to be fair GLaDOS didn't start crazy but slowly went nuts over time. But at least they didn't lock their employees out of a potentially life saving vault and let them become horrible, undead mutants.
thunderstudent GLaDOS didn's start crazy... maybe, but the facts are that a advanced IA not properly tested ended with fully control of the installations with human approval...
On the other hand... well, were the USA Army the ones who didn't allow the guy to join the vault because was not listed... Obviously other Vault tec employee would recognize that it is their coworker... I see it just like a typical human mistake while the chaos begins, not like a "planned fuck"
IIRC the Vaults were projects of the Enclave and the listed people were going to be subject to crazy insane social experiments. I'm sure also that the Overseers were also selected by the Enclave and their natural descendants ran the vaults, so given those Overseers held the element of fear and power over those they were going to stay with, well, the punishments would be grave for the person that let them in if one should "unexpectedly" get through. That and the Overseers were almost fanatical in their beliefs to the Enclave anyway to allow this to happen which is extended to their rigid policies of not letting anyone in. It's only when a natural disaster/vault breaks/external force threatens the Vault that protocol has to be reassessed to continue the isolation project.
TheKnightOfSmite there are a lot of vaults where the experiments affect directly the overseers... while I think that you are right a bit (enclave & vault-tek relationship) I dont really think that the most of the overseers would be selected by the enclave or involved directly, just maybe indirectly.
He is so precious. He is a perfect example of why you should never judge a book by its cover.
I sent him to sanctury and travelled back and forth just to see if he made it but he was never there. I wasnt expecting anything but later found his dead body after i killed some raiders infront of the mass fusion building :(
I thought he would be "protected" like the rest of the settlers. I haven't seen him in Sanctuary yet, and I'm starting to fear the worst.

Vault Tech Rep wants das ass!
I CANT STOP LAUGHING!
+dra6o0n -- OML I LAUGHED SO DAMN HARD WHEN THAT HAPPENED! *Wipes tear from eye* OH MY GOD. My immediate reaction was _"Da fuq? PERVERT!"_
Recognizes someone he spoke to for a total of 3 minutes almost immediately.
Still wearing the same clothes he wore 200 years ago.
SEEMS LEGIT.
+Longknife I was in power armor when I approached him. Instantly knew me. Explain that lol
+justin4018 Because... he IS Vault Tech.
+justin4018 game engine coding. IRL, though, if you saw someone like that, just before such a massive chunk of emotional/physical/mental/psychological trauma, you'd probably remember their face, too.
Kieran Garnett
Can we stop stretching our imaginations to cover for Bethesda's shit writing?
Fact of the matter is this: no, you would not remember the face of some anonymous person you spoke to TWO HUNDRED YEARS AGO just because they were friendly. Do you remember the face of a friendly person you spoke to last month very briefly while never catching their name or truly getting to know them? No? Then guess what, this fuckwit isn't gonna remember someone 200 years later.
Likewise, let's entertain the idea that he does remember you, for sake of argument. You're telling me his reaction is gonna be "IT'S REALLY YOU I'M SO SURE OF IT" and not "no it can't be, just an incredible look-alike?" You've never seen someone that looked familiar but you hesitated to approach them BECAUSE you were certain the person you recognized them as couldn't possibly be there at that moment in time?
Please, I'm so sick of people being quick to suck off a company's dick and cover for them when they make mistakes or, in this case, have really fucking shitty writing. No, this isn't a big deal in the big picture of the game by any means, though it isn't surprising that this isn't the only instance of lackluster writing in the game. What does matter though is every time fanboys avidly defend a game despite it's faults instead of saying "It's a fun game but the writing is fucking anus," then you know what happens? The company lacks incentive to improve, and then you get another lackluster product with flaws here and there.
This is shit writing. Let's call it what it is.
+Longknife I've never met a friendly person so your assumptions are unprovable.
Irony is, if he DID get into Vault 111, he would have died when his life support turned off (Vault Dweller), would have died in the overseer vs security riot (Vault Tec Employees) or shot in the back of the head by security (Stragglers). Ghoulification is probably one of his better endings.
200 years and he still has a bit of that happy personality
Gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood morning! Vault-Tec calling!
Mr. Vault-Tec Do you know where my baby Shaun is?
Cute Cookie roasting in Oblivion
He was sacrificed to Mehrunes Dagon
*ahem* how in the world did u get to find our secret door bell thats on our anti knock door!? ._.
Mr. Vault-Tec We don't want any
You know, things are looking up*teleports* I can feel it this time!
+wtfboomlol1
American with ghoulification:
"I am growing stronger"
That killed me.
+wtfboomlol1 That was kinda horrifying lol
If you start teleporting things really would be looking up
Anyone else notice the "time being a precious commodity", possibly referenced in the show to Bud askins character when talking about time and management
He would be a god level salesman with multigenerational customers by that time
Poor guy, he literally saved the player by giving them access into the vault but himself couldn't go in....Also he low key should've been the leader of the ghouls and a boss battle with the player
MrFreezefanboy If he were to be in the experiment he would've died like the others. He's lucky enough to still live as a ghoul tho.
@@caramelllllllll I would rather die lol
@@luzhernandez5321 why tho? I mean, ghouls are basically immortal.
@GoTi4No true... true..
@GoTi4No you will feel like an african but even non cops will try to shot you.
Poor bastard. I always treat him well
I was sitting here trying to figure out why the Vault-Tec Rep sounds so familiar and then it hit me: aside from being in all sorts of stuff over the years, that's _Grandpa Max_ lmao
Dude this totally lines up with the fallout tv show!! This guy (vault tech) KNEW the bombs were dropping soon
I haven't watched the show but how the hell did vault tech know the bombs were dropping? I mean, although I'm sure in the TV you can see the news reporter that communications has been lost but vault tech could've received that sooner
He survived a nuclear blast and the Wasteland?
I guess he was...Prepared for the Future. (Badum tiss)
+Xzener
he was far enough from the blast I guess, he was behind some mountain/hill
what everyone is wondering is how crisp and clean his outfit still looks after 200 years.
Moon Man
I'm wondering how he stayed as a shitty salesman for 200 years without learning some survival skills and became more useful in the wasteland.
that1dude0092 Hey hey hey. A shitty salesman would not be able to get you into a vault. This ghoul is the best fuckin salesman ever.
+Xzener He proved you didnt need the vault.
Goddammit, only I got the joke. ;-;
Poor guy :(
I say lucky him! Everyone else in that vault ended up dead and I'd rather see him alive and well as a ghoul instead of a corpse. And just see how happy he is to be in Sanctuary and have the only person from 200 years ago he's still known be his buddy!
+Devin Kawakami He's been miserable for 200 years and he never entered that Vault.
I'd rather be dead than spend my entire life rotting away and possibly going feral.
+Qliphothian all ghouls eventually go feral
+Sean Simcoe Reliable sources for this particular line of evidence, if you would please?
I like how at the end he just teleported to the other side of the room
He reminds me of Ol' Gil from The Simpson's. Ain't nothing gonna keep him down!
