Vilja Lied is the one she sang first on this show! She sang it for Henk Port because it was a song close to his heart. And it was were the other singers (most of them at least) were introduced to Floor's abilities. What a performance!

in this show she sings in Spanish, Dutch, German, English. in this show is one artist in the hightlights. the others sing something from him/her repetoire or a song connected to that person. it's no competition, more a tribute the the spotlight artist..greets from the NW Army in the netherlands( Floor's home country).
Don't know if anyone mentioned it for you, but she sang a song that is originally a Salsa that stayed #1 on the Latin Charts for 10 weeks! The song was written by Rolf Sanchez, the individual going crazy during and at the end of Floor's performance. This particular episode was a tribute for his presence and contributions in music.
And it was rereleased(Floor's version)in South America, and it went to #1 too.

There are good singers, there are amazing singers, and there is Floor Jansen. She's the next level of the next level of the next level etc. She's from another dimension, in any aspect. That woman is sent from the gods.
The original song is by the bearded boy who gets excited during the performance, Rolf Sanchez, a Dutchman of South American origins. Originally the rhythm was slow, but Floor rearranged it to make it more "rocky", that's why Rolf gets surprised and excited. Floor admitted he doesn't speak Spanish, she just memorized the words of the song, with a more than fair diction
Floor is high sensitive, she totally feels every song she sings and projects those feelings onto others.
Such a talented performancer, she has no limits. 😊

In my opinion Floor Jansen is one of the very best singers on the planet today. Now I admit that I have serious dislike for Frozen songs but when Floor covered Let it go and Into the unknown for her daughter Freja. My opinion changed drastically.
Every single thing Floor sang on this show was awesome. While her vocal dynamics, talent, and stage presence is mind blowing with Nightwish, I don't think we could FULLY appreciate Floor's actual versatility range until Beste Zangers 2019. She sang in English, Dutch, German, and Spanish. That alone is mind blowing. She took other famous singers songs and completely re-imagined them (with help from great band on that show), and made them hers, she OWNED them, whether it was opera, salsa, pop, folk, it didn't matter, she took it over and owned it. She is simply a magical person.
Been listening to her every day and i still have no words. But we ALL understand you.
If I remember correctly Floor can sing in 7 languages. I think the reason her diction is so good for the different languages is because she said she likes to taste how the vowels form and feel in the mouth. She is just amazing.

Yeah, most of us watch Nightwish daily I think and still after years of watching their videos and listen to the songs, each time I find something different and fun.
She’s amazing on stage and the sweetest person to meet. I had the privilege of meeting her a few months ago and she radiates love and warmth in person and is so down to earth and easy to talk to. It was a magical couple of minutes that I’ll cherish for the rest of my life.

You know, there is a clip on TH-cam where Floor sings from a phonebook… and it still is amazing! :-)
Most people sing what they can, Floor sings whatever she wants. Beautiful performance, great reaction. Floor is special indeed.
Floor was representing the Metal music side in the show, and therefore 'electricifire' some of the songs - like the opera songs Vilja Lied & Phantom of the Opera - but others, she made into emotional masterpieces of ballads, like Shallow.
And the others very soon started to make fun of the pre-justiced thoughts of metal music being growling and screaming - and this was on live TV. So the millions of viewers in The Netherlands soon realized that metal music is something completely different from what many of them thought. Floor totally killed these 7 episodes and the demand of 'more Floor' in the Dutch radio and television became massive. And she went on different programs - plus she made 10 extra concerts (you have watched one song from the recorded gig in Amsterdam).
And she got a prize for building bridhes between the genres, that year.
She is a phenomenal and unique artist - but you already know by now 👍

Being raised in Mexico, I loved that Floor sang in Spanish, good enough to understand what she was saying, even though she said she learned the sounds without actually knowing Spanish.
She definitively put the feelings to the song, especially at the end. This is a heart brake song and in the beginning she looks a little too happy, but quickly gets into the meaning of the song and starts projecting what she is singing.
The song is originally a Salsa, Floor with the help from the band behind her, made the arrangements in Rock Ballad fashion to better suit her skills and made a result that I like 10 times better than the original.

This is a Dutch show and it is not really a competition, but celebrating music and singing with awesome singers and a great band. Yes, they choose their favorite singer at the and, but they are all winners. I love how Floor adjusts to all kinds of genres, since she always sang Metal since teenager. Rolf Sanchez (the half Dutch, half Spanish guy with the big white teeth, his song, he is very famous in Florida and costa Rica and some oter latin American countries :D She turned it in a soft rock number, the original by Sanchezon the sofa is Salza. Dutch people are very multi lingual sir :)

Floor was hardly known in her own country before this show. The other singers were told she was a heavy metal singer. She then amazed them by singing opera, pop and musical theatre.

You are making perfect sense. Floor is an empath. That is why, when she sings, we feel the song. Not only does she want to be perfect with the pronunciation, but she wants to know exactly the meaning of the word, so she knows where to put the emphasis. How we say a word can change the meaning. It is the same way with singing. She has mastered every aspect of her "instrument", and feeling the song is how she truly connects with us, and why she is a generational icon. We are blessed.

At the Henk Poort-evening (the nice older guy) she sings for him in german the 'Vilja Lied' (Song of Vilja) from the operetta 'Die lustige Witwe' from the Composer Franz Lehar. This was the very first song-evening when Nobody knows, who Floor Jansen is. After this they all shocked. Look, why...
I thought I had seen all of the Beste Zangers songs, but, somehow, I missed this one, so thank you for reacting to it. With Floor, you run out of superlatives pretty quickly. But, I think you hit on something when you mentioned that she draws you in, connects, not only with the song, but with the person watching the video. Her warmth just radiates, no matter what she is singing.

Floor is fluent in I believe five languages and can sing in 3 or 4 other languages.
Absolutely love your reactions...you really get them (NW) and her (Floor). I also appreciate you delving into the lyrics too. All of the Beste Zanger songs are great BUT it is her connection with Henk Poort (older man on the show who was the Dutch Phantom and Floor idolizes him). You've maybe been told the story of them and Phantom of the Opera...and it started on that show and the full story manifested late last year on their tour. Keep enjoying the music and we will keep enjoying you watching them.

All performances in this show are amazing and of course Floor is just wow! She completely revamped this song. It sounds nothing like the little part of his song that they played. She added ‘floor’ to every performance she did. They even said that after a couple of performances❤️

Rolf Sanchez original song is a great Salsa Song, which was No.1 in the States for a few weeks, Floor is not a Salsa 💃 Lady, not at all, she even talked about it, but it is amazing what she made out of this song. She even does not speak Spanish and then she does what she always does, she owns the song and this even in Spanish! This is unbelievable, by the way: she did the same in Germany. In Germany, there is a show which is called „Sing meinen Song“, which is exactly the same show as Beste Zangers and she owned this show! Tx for your great reaction! 😊
Winner is by far the best Floor performance from Beste Zangers, if you react to it, please please please please watch the version with the intro and outro with subtitles. For most of these songs, it's way better with the back story.

Great reaction, again! You're right, when she is on stage it's really not "A fair fight", so to speak. She sings for these other performers in English, Spanish, Dutch and German and just "kills" it.
