    Sinead O'Connor was protesting the Church's (well documented) cover-ups of child abuse. She wasn't protesting the Catholic Church in general. She was actually addressing something that it would take the U.S. 10 more years to finally acknowledge so maybe we should be apologizing to her for how we treated her when she was trying to be an advocate for children.

      He’s THE most overrated musician ever. “He’s never played a solo the same way twice”...... neither has my cat when he slaps his tail against the strings. Hitting sour notes, banging pots and pans, and planning to improvise music almost always results in unbearable sonic torture. I’m not opposed to esoteric creativity, but if your creative efforts are completely underwhelming every single time... there just MIGHT be a lack of talent behind the charade. If anti-establishment affect is his greatest merit, then he’s just another dude with access to instruments, and a (P.A.) Public Address system

The problem with what she did is that she painted the entire church with one broad, blind, clueless, brush. This is dangerous and unjust.

Sure, there are members of the church who aren't evil, but the leadership is evil and the entire organization should be prosecuted and dismantled. As someone who suffered through 13 years of catholic school, I am well aware of the hypocrisy even among most general members who have always been willing to look the other way. Sinead also was terrorized by the church in her youth and is in no way clueless about its dangers.

    No, the replacements played great. They got banned because Paul westerberg dropped an F-bomb off mic. Also that interview clip “the percussion player wasn’t there” was about Roxy music, it’s just from the same interview where he talks about the replacements.

    (Edit): System of a Down were completely banned in 2005 after their performance for using racist comments on Michaels.

    Zappa is one of my all time fav artists, he didn’t care about what his lyrics said, he cared about the music itself, the instruments, and Hot Rats is a great example of that, only instruments except on Willie The Pimp, and not even for a second I felt it was a monotonous or boring record, most of his records are awesome, Joe’s Garage is my personal favorite cuz the lyrics on that one actually have a message, and the songs are just beautiful
