- 'Pushbacks' are when authorities in one country force people refugees back over the borders they have just crossed without either giving them a chance to apply for asylum or making sure they are deported back to their actual country of origins - which is illegal under the Refugee Convention. Pushbacks occur regularly at the Spanish-moroccan border, where refugees from all over West Africa are trapped, suffering daily abuses. All of this is so true and on point. Nobody seems to do their due diligence on what our laws are or how they work. It isn’t a commonplace village like where they come from, there is a system. I was trying to help, a Refegee is a person running away from prosecution from their government or society because of their believe or way of life.If your life is threatened or you fear for your life then you can be accepted by other countries as a refugee but there is no such thing as economic refugee.
