I regularly watched your video when I was in High School. Now, I've been watching these videos again from my office and they just bring back memories when I was struggling for IELTS. Thank you so much for your dedication to english teaching. What you've been doing has produced huge impact to my life.
Dear teacher James, Let me begin by thanking you for your efforts, I would like to say "you worth so very much" Pls don't care to silly racist comments. Thank you my teacher
you know I am 28 years old and I spent the last two years studying English,a period of time known in my country as a "diplomado". Well the thing is that I know I am too old but at the same time I want to become an English teacher, thank you a lot for inspiring me I am pretty sure I´ll be watching your videos whatever the time could be. Thank you
One of the hardest things to overcome when learning English is the differences in grammar. This is a great vid for all TESOL grads and their students..

Talking about simple present tense, it is a good idea to break down all the teacher's talks (transcript or subtitles) into grammar points. By that we can learn the "real" situation whose tenses are used in.
James this is Aditya here, your teaching is really awesome and energetic i have learned many new things from you just don't listen some negative comments passed by some peoples
Thanks James. I am from America but I have a Skype friend in Russia and we watch your vids together. I speak English, but I also learn more about grammar. Chad
I must admit that tenses are my greatest weakness. Generally, grammar is not my matter. But James you're just an amazing teacher of the world!!!:D keep going!!!
I think that this is my first comment on YT, but, It's so so so cool video, that I can't do anything more then say you: really good job man! It's nice to see, that you really enjoy teaching! Go on, I am following you since now (:
hi(:i'm from romania and i think you're great!thank you for all these lessons it really helped me a lot.i love english and it's a lot easier when i learn it from you.
the first, "has", is a helping verb, it helps form the tense you want to use. the second, "had", is carrying the meaning of your sentence and could be replaced by: spent, forgotten etc. the same for "had had" - the first "had" is only a helping verb, the second "had" carries the meaning and could be replaced by some other verb.
I would appreciate if you could please do the other tenses as well .. I think this is the most effective way to learn it .. looking forward to hearing from you ,,,
Thanks to my teachers I will take time for you to a certain range of monitoring a Turkish citizen and where examination of our us have english a little start to fall on hard times and myself to you can understand comfortably liked your narration I am trying to in this manner improves

Guys, learning to speak hebrew doesn't need to be difficult (I used to think it did). I'll give you some advice right now. Search a training program called Practicorex Hebrew (just google it). Seriously, thanks to Practicorex Hebrew I have learn how to speak practical Hebrew in quick and easy way. I probably shouldn't even be mentioning it cause I don't want a bunch of other guys out there running the same "game" but whatever, I am just in a great mood today so I'll share the wealth haha.
My English teacher recommend this for me and my friends. And Iv seen some videos and they're so great. I can understand the lesson but still, I cant understand the lesson that talks bout "other", "another", "the other". hohoho.... :D
Can someone answer my question. right now I'm studying future form. It says here in my textbook that I must use present simple when I am to speak about fixed future events. e.g,: My train arrives at 5:00pm. But then why can I not say 'He is 18 years by old next month', rather than 'He will 18 by next month', or 'He is turning 18 next month'? I'm tired of native speakers telling me "that's just how it is" or "that's just how we say it". There must be some logical explanation.
Because if u use the past, Present and the Future, then the 1st one that ur using is the Present, on how old he will be turning, but if ur going to be talking about the past, then ur going to be using the word that he will be turning 18 yrs old. cause will discribe on when he will be turning..
Dear Ibri, im glad to see you trying to improve your English, I'm also an amateur students so pls don't mind, I couldn't understand what exactly you meant, the answers I can easily offer you is "you'll understand everything soon just don't stop your movement" Regards
the answer is simple, well it is for me lol, is the birthday a routine? a fixed schedule? In the example you provided we are talking about an schedule, one about the future; like saying "Monday, I teach English class, Tuesday I carry out minor tasks, Wednesday back to school" a fixed schedule written about other days, days that are on the future. However, turning 18 is not a routine, is a one time action that doesn't repeat. Remember, will is used for predictions. Going to and a verb is used to talk about plans and activities simple present, our routines, is used to talk about a routine for tomorrow
Ibri Beh You've made me think on this one!Firstly, 'by next month' sounds like an action is going to be completed in that time because 'by' suggests something is happening before next month. If you wanted to use 'by' in the sentence you'll have to use 'he will be 18 by next month'. This is because in this case we don't know the date the birthday is happening, we only know it is happening before next month. We have to use the future (with 'will') because we are making a prediction.Without using 'by', what I would say are correct sentences would be variants of:He will be 18 next monthHe is going to be 18 next month He is turning 18 next monthThose are the ones I would use (UK English). The future tense using 'going to + verb' is used for things that are very likely to happen. 'He is 18 next month' - Although this is widely used in spoken English, I struggled to find any grammar notes online about it. I guess you could argue (like higashi above/below) that changing your age is a regular occurrence (every year) and therefore it's acceptable to use the present tense. Hopefully that helps somewhat.
Ibri Beh Here's my take on this. "He is 18 years by old next month", is future tense yes, but... it's a prediction. Yes, provided that the person lives, 'he will be 18...", but here's the core point, generally, English does not use the present continuous to predict something that is outside of our control. Instead, we use 'going to' or 'will': We can control when a train arrives. For instance, we say “The sun will rise in the morning.” This is a statement that is a prediction. If I were to say, “The sun rises in the morning,” I'm not making a prediction, but rather am stating a fact about the sun’s movement. Your stating, “He is 18 years old next month” (paraphrased), I can only see used in the context of correcting a fact: Question: He’s 18? (Meaning, is he 18 now) Answer: He’s 18 next month. (Correcting the fact that he is not 18 now) Here, there isn’t a prediction being made, but a correction on the age. And even this I think is more in colloquial usage. When using the present continuous for things/circumstances beyond human control, use ‘will’ or ‘going to’.
Thank you very much Mr . James for your an effective teaching , however , this is very clear inspiration indeed about my special Nobel Prizes which Facts and Truth , moreover , thrice and so on
