Who am I?
I am the author of The Parachute and its Pilot, Transcending Fear and Green Light. I have been a canopy course director for more than 20 years, and have helped literally thousands of people like you land softer and more accurately. I have studied psychology on the undergraduate and graduate level, and I have been designing and manufacturing parachutes for over 30 years. I have created over 600 TH-cam videos and hours and hours of premiere skydiving training videos on www.Adventurewisdom.com These videos will tell the story of canopy flight in much more depth than any canopy course, including mine.

If you're renting gear try and stay with the same setup. Definitely take a canopy course as soon as possible! I'f yourr DZ is like mine you get plenty of crazy conditions and that's kind of what you need.

Did my first 3 jumps today. The good news is I have ZERO fear of ground. The bad news is I have ZERO fear of ground lol. I stood up 2 of the 3 landings but I feel like if the instructor weren't telling me when to flare I'd be hitting the ground full speed.

Very helpful for us who are new to the sport to better understand the physics and aerodynamics of flaring. Surely the cool kids with heaps of landings can learn something too.
