I had bought Flow Mojas back in August, since they were the company I knew of that had LED poi that everyone I knew swore by a few years back. However right after I got them, I started getting tons of ads for the pair you reviewed that were much cheaper so I was pretty mad. But after seeing your review I believe I got the right pair for myself. I do agree the one downside is that there's no LED handles, outside of the capsules, which I just don't like. Glad to hear Flow Toys are in the works of making new LED handles. Thanks for the review Drex
I picked up the orbpoi and have been so happy with them. My previous poi hadn't been contact poi but flowers Ninjav2 and v3. Which I had Major problems with leds not working, plastic casing breaking. They were great at sending my replacement parts because it didn't take long sadly. I've been trying to revive them lately. In regards to the handles of the Orbpoi. I did have them shatter on a failed toss. I wasn't on concrete and I hadn't notice and even scratched my hand. But, ultrapoi quickly responded and got me new handles out quickly. They've been very engaged with their buyers. I just installed the leds in the handles and that was so easy to do. Ultrapoi is really winning me over on overall ease of use, but as you said. More battery time, and maybe brighter could be great.
I’ve been spinning poi for about a year now and I’ve learned almost everything I know from your videos and classes - thank you!! I’ve been using orb poi, but I’m considering getting a set of pod poi because the orbs are pretty heavy. What are you thoughts on heavier vs lighter poi? Is it just a personal preference?
Hi Drex! Just wanted to say you're awesome and I've watched a ton of your videos in the last few days. Very helpful channel and it was great getting a discount with flowtoys to buy my first pair of poi 😊
Thanks for an informative review Drex! I have a pair of Flowmoja poi from Flowtoys in my arsenal & recently felt the need to change the fatty cord to smithy rope because they suddenly didn’t feel right compared to all my other poi. I have always loved the buttery feel and gentle springiness of flowcord and still use flowcord on my Flowlights, but have grown accustomed to the rope style tether spinning day props more often, however, even after 5 years of spinning I always find myself stumped when choosing a tether for a new set of contact poi. I think it would be interesting to get your advice on choosing poi tethers by comparing the various options available in a variety of different prop shops. I realize all of this comes down to individual preference much like size, weight & length, but how does one choose with with all the tether options out there? I’m interested in how you or others choose their tether? Does width and material really make a difference? Does the option you prefer change based on size, weight or even manufacturer of the head? Does anyone else finds themselves stumped when choosing a tether option for a new set of poi or am I overthinking this too much? You would think after 5 years spinning I would have this clocked in like I do with weight, length, handle etc. but find it the most frustrating part in choosing a new set of poi. Btw I’m So excited to hear Flowtoys is working on an LED handle option! Thanks ~ Sushi
Wow...that's a great idea but also a hell of an undertaking. I'm open to it but it's also likely going to take a long time to get there. Let me think on this and see if I can come up with a way to get it done that doesn't take the better part of a year ;)
Probably weird to put this on Drex’s channel but Beacon ThePoiMechanic has a 3 part series on TH-cam on all the commonly used types of ropes for poi, its a great watch especially that 3rd part
You have mentioned interesting things to consider as a beginner. I have yet to start this as a new hobby. Super excited Thanks sushi (and drex) for all the wisdom
Thank you for this! Any chance you could help me out with a comparison for softness of poi for when they hit you? This is a very important factor me in my search for LED contact poi. Thank you kindly.
Thank you so much for this review. I would love a review on budget poi to get a collection to carry with me to allow kids to have turns of while camping. The main requirement would be durability. Their attention spans wouldn’t require more than a couple of hours of battery life. An LED handle wouldn’t matter for kids either. I went camping with a large group and only had fire poi plus some old rubbish led poi that stopped working the first time They got bumped together. Please help. I would love to use you channel to start teaching young ones but need to buy some budget led poi for them to use
@@melissaryan8490 It's happening so much because I'm not working from a script in this. "And everything" is a tell that I'm not sure what I'm going to say next, so it's something I can insert to fill a little bit of time while I think up the next thing I want to say. I could probably edit all of them out but that might actually wind up being more disruptive.
No worries @DrexFactor Poi , you make great content and a silly stop phrase isn’t gonna change that ;) thanks for the video, timing is great because I wanted to get new led poi for a while now!
Hey Drex, I tried to download the pdf, but after filling out the information I only got a mail that confirms that I’m subscribed to the mailing list and no pdf! Could you check out what’s wrong? Thanks! And as always great video :)
Hello Drew. Please help me I would like to learn how to make poï but I am French. All quality videos like you are all in English without French subtitles or not in French. Please help me.
I'm glad someone is doing some level 9f comprehensive review across the board.... But not going to lie, I barely made it half way through before the EXTREMELY overused "and everything" became overwhelmingly irritating. Many reviewers make excellent use of some form of a teleprompter to avoid issues ... Such as high repetition of a word or 0hrase, and to keep conversation crisp and dynamic. I know this was done over a year ago, so I trust his method of engagement has matured, and look forward to seeing it .cheers!
@@DrexFactor I would really appreciate the promo code for flowtoys if you have one. I'm getting my daughter a set of podpoi V2. Also, I think I'm going with the new FPC rope option. She's 14yrs old and brand new to flow art. Do you have an opinion about the leash options for a newbie? Thank you so much for your videos, you're amazing!
After buying epoi I can see why you left EmazingLights out *insert cringe here. I love my epoi but Jesus. I went thro 3 pairs before I got one that worked properly fr. Major button issues. Very glitchy.
Does anyone make something that is just the LED small balls on both sides? Sounds silly, but my flow arts have been limited to a small 3ft rope with golfball sized knots on either end. Made it in college and have been messing with it a few hours a day for years, just for kicks or a moment of zen. I'd love to find an LED version of something like that without the bigger contact ball. I wouldn't even know what to call that tbh...
The broken nose I got when I first started spinning with only fire poi says no. I would recommend making sock poi, although it's totally up to you. But Drex might have different advice.
No I'd start with something easier to transport, softer, and less messy. You can get to fire poi in due time but I'd spend some time first getting the basics down and getting comfortable with them. Plus which it'll cost less to start with practice poi.
I love this video, but I get hung up on your crutch words when you're speaking. You repeat the words "...and everything" a LOT, and as someone who has studied public speaking a lot, I catch those crutch words and it's distracting me from the rest of the awesomeness of your content. Go back and count how many times you end a sentence with "and everything"

Drex! Great review, I’m curious which set you think would work well for fishtails as that’s a major part of my spinning. Thank you hope you’re well!
Fantastic guide, watched it and went right out and got some new poi
Thanks for the tips, and everything.
I purchase my UltraPoi due to this video, thank you!
Awesome review! Bubble poi look great (minus the durability)! I just ordered some vision poi from them so I'll have to wait😭
Nice! I hope you enjoy the Vision Poi--I'm a big fan! :D
Durability was improved a couple of times since review.
@@dmitrys3843 awesome! Most likely my next pair!

Which one is the softest LED poi? Does anyone know
Wish I saw the ignis poi b4 I bought my ultra poi ones
Very clear and concise
Thanks for the video, it really helps!
Flowtoys durability - they also warranty their capsules. If they break, they will make it right.

The broken nose I got when I first started spinning with only fire poi says no. I would recommend making sock poi, although it's totally up to you. But Drex might have different advice.
It's "poi", never "pois". Start with non-stretchy sock poi with something soft for weight (water balloons are great). Drex would recommend the same.
