    First of your videos and this game seen three days ago
    Bought game off your store last night
    did the first two maps this morning.
    Still going on this one. My map behaved differently. The VIP is standing right in front of the door of the little room. When the last man comes out, my guys first did not fire, because they knew they would hit the VIP and the last man killed them. On second go, I pulled into different positions (your mentioned L) and now they saw a firing opportunity... :-( and killed the VIP
    But that game is so much fun. All this figuring out, tinkering

    2:48 How would you prevent a friendly fire incident involving the guy crossing the threshold and the sniper outside in real life? it seems like if the marksman is able to just shoot anyone that suddenly runs into the hall with a gun and isn't friendly, there's a good chance that he could accidentally hit a friendly when they cross the threshold for whatever reason. Do they communicate every time they cross or do snipers generally just not shoot into a building once they know there's potential for them to unintentionally hit a friendly?

  • @ericfleming5522

    Couple of things I would have done differently (and did do differently--I loved DK1 enough that I immediately picked up early access on this as soon as I could). But game recognizes game--BZ!
    Speaking of games, everyone should consider purchasing this one. The original door kickers was one of the best tactical games I've played since Rainbow Six first let you draw up an assault plan during the mission planning phase. And given the quality of the initial game, I wouldn't shy away from this one just because it's still billed as early access--you'll definitely see a final product in the end, and you'll almost certainly love it.

    Great stuff. I might try out your play style, which is to "real time" it but with pauses to plan. I see from your best time for this mission that sometimes you play like a lot of us do, by making a plan in which the AI can basically run the mission fast and with minimal "live" interference but I think that is inherently less tactical. I would be interested to know your thoughts about the different play styles. Thanks for a great DK2 video series.

    Only thing I would criticize is: if you gonna go that one man kicking route, then make him switch to his pistol. He makes every action faster with a pistol. When he kicks a door, he recovers and is ready to shoot faster with a pistol, same with a flash. I would also say if you gonna have to stand in front of a door, just forget about the flash and just kick and let the soldier shoot into the room. Only of the door is clear, but there is some corners he can't see, throw a flash. Otherwise you just risk kicking the door, having a bad guy straight up in front of you, and your soldier dying while trying to throw a flash.
    As a side note: I wouldn't have gone for one holding long at all. You already have the sniper doing so. Instead have two men going through the side, one kicking the door and the other shooting into the room.

      @@ControlledPairsGaming Oh. I thought in real life you would consider using pistols at such short range too. I will admit I have never served so I ain't pretending to know about such things IRL.

      @@ControlledPairsGaming but anyways my bad didn't mean to like lecture you or anything, like, don't take it as if this gamer who is all his day on a chair is trying to lecture a vet on how to shoot his weapon or anything. I do know you clearly know more about this than I do.

    • @ControlledPairsGaming
      @ControlledPairsGaming  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No worries at all man. I know I'm not "playing the game right" sometimes but it's to try to maximize realism. You'd only transfer to pistol if your main gun goes down or you go black on ammo and don't have time to change mags.

    • @icecold1805
      @icecold1805 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ControlledPairsGaming Oh really? well in-game you treat pistols as good CQB guns cuz your main is too long to handle around corners and situations like that. I imagined this was realistic, and real-life soldiers would consider it the same way. Heh, guess not.
      Ehhh yeah I guess you ain't "gamifying" the experience but if anything, it does speak well of the game that your real-life approach to the game is very successful, and I mean very, not just "sort of works" like trying to play Counter Strike realistically, but you are able to one-try most missions in ways that even I, who gamifies it, couldn't.
      Anyways, don't think "you ain't playing the game right". I am learning a lot from watching your videos, mostly about general philosophy of how to approach certain situations and how to read the environment.

      for what I know from previos game - he can't, at list because it takes some time to aim and auto-shot could lead to "collateral damage" cause of it ability to pierce bodies and perform double kill
