  • Big projects seem to be popping up around Cebu, which I think is a very good sign of the progress in the City. Today we take a look at one of these projects - The NUSTAR Hotel Resort and Casino.
    The craziest thing about this project is just the big bidget for this project - OVER 30B PESOS! but the fact that they were able to build this in just 2 years in the middle of the pandemic. Such a crazy feat! Hope you enjoy today's exclusive tour.

    It looks like Cebu will become the country’s latest convention hub.
    Happy to watch this latest vlog of yours. You are always at your best element in a construction site as you explain structural and technical issues. Kahit one or two vlogs lang a month. Just don’t hibernate again. There are many of us, non-engineers/non-architects, who subscribed to your channel. You have a skillful ability to explain in the most simple and basic level complex construction issues. Keep it up, Slater!

      True nakakahawa kasi yung way of talking nila na very decent and yung choice of terms are really nakakatalino talaga. Thats why best advice talaga in life is to surround yourself with people that influences you to be a better person. I think listening to people in vlogs like this helps kahit na di ka talaga kasama sa convo, it influences and make you adopt the knowledge they're sharing and their way of talking talaga may help apply to your daily way of communicating as well. 🥹

      Not slowly; Cebu has experienced rapid progress and expansion in just a few years. Cebu has become the most prosperous and progressive metropolis. Cebu has achieved extraordinary growth considering this magnificent city is outside the national capital region (NCR), where most of the developments, infrastructure projects, government contracts, budgets, and government interest are focused only within that region. The Cebu economy, tourism growth, and being independent from the NCR are quite remarkable and exceptional. This is something all Cebuanos are very proud of. Cebu can survive without the Philippines. Cebu is built by Cebuanos only, while NCR is built by Filipinos from different islands and regions in the Philippines.

    I am not surprized that the engr and architect are so proud and excited ti show Slater around is that they all have common denominator in the construction industry. It is so easy to talk to someone who understands ur lingo and concepts and not having to explain every nuances of the construction like u have to do with someone interviewing with hardly any knowledge about engineering. Kudos Cebu. Another ecuse to visit Cebu. Thanks Slater for this new vid.

    The sheer scale of the NUSTAR Hotel Resort and Casino project is mind-blowing, with boasting a budget that exceeds a whopping 30 billion pesos! What's even more impressive is the lightning-fast completion-just two years, all while navigating the challenges of a pandemic. This is a true testament to Cebu City's resilience and unwavering commitment to development.

    A new business town is slowly rising in the SRP. But a lot of issues need to be addressed to get the best experience of these new facilities. Cebu City Government please keep up po tayo sa basura at sa drainage natin. We don't want the citizens and visitors to experience the worst flood in our city during the rainy season. Also, the amount of garbage we produce in Cebu City has been skyrocketing. The trash is floating in the sea. Government officials should be more proactive and innovative in addressing these problems. Sa mga kababayan ko naman, VOTE wisely. Vote for those people who are eager to make our city one of the best in this country.

But you can see from CCLEX the great landscape shaping this city. And this may not stop from here. Ultimately, we are seeing a fast growing city in the entire South East Asia. I've been to both cities sa kabisayaan, Cebu has more to offer, as it shows much faster improvement, and the location is just perfect to be called the queen of the south, as it's location is much nearer to Metro Manila, and it has lesser security issues IMO🤔

      I don't suggest this one .I'm from Cebu thou , It's because areas /space are limited . Mas better improve road quality , mass transpo and proper drainage system. Embrace walkable sidewalks , clean and green streets should be better enough. Lastly relocate or pauwiin to their own province yung mga informal settlers and more park space and progress should be done.

      Better stay where you are. Cebu is for Cebuanos. The streets are really in standard sizes just like in older parts of most other European and Asian cities like London, Rome, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Shanghai and even Manila. It's just that there are too many cars and vehicles running on the streets because of lack of modern mass transport system. Widening roads in older parts of the city is close to impossible if not impossible because the properties are privately owned and buying them is too costly. Cebu City is the only major city in the Philippines where you can't find adulterated vehicles running on major city streets. In Manila cities, you can find tricycles and modified tractors sharing space with regular cars in major streets.

    • @doppelgangster
      @doppelgangster 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      It's not a lack of transport systems. It's a resullt of poor urban planning. I've lived in Cebu and believe me, I loved it. It was so easy to just go to the beach on the weekends. But when you're just around the City, Mandaue, Mactan -- the traffic is terrible. Especially during Christmas season. I remember being stuck in a car on the road for almost 2 hours driving from where I lived in Lahug (Marco Polo, near JY Square) to SM City (Less than 4km) during one Christmas season. I love driving late at night though, it's so easy and quick to get anywhere. That's why I envision Central Cebu with wider roads -- it will definitely improve the economy, people will have more time on their hands instead of being on the road for a significant portion of their waking hours.

    • @doppelgangster
      @doppelgangster 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@lionhearted1969 Nope. Tricycles are not allowed in EDSA. Commonwealth Ave has up to 8 lanes (8 eastbound, 8 westbound) in some parts, down to 4 lanes in others. But we should probably be able to agree that be it Manila or Cebu, both are a result of poor urban planning. You don't see traffic like you see here in all those cities. Even in rush hour traffic in LA, where everybody has a vehicle and rarely take public transport, it's never as bad as it gets in the Ph. It took be 2hrs once to drive through Salinas Dr. In Lahug to SM City (NRA) during Christmas season. I love Cebu, but massive urban renovation is in order to make it truly a world class group of cities, first and foremost for its own people. It's not a joke when you're talking about medical emergencies where even ambulances have to face the challenge of having nowhere to pass through.

    • @doppelgangster
      @doppelgangster 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      @@lionhearted1969 It's funny how you say Cebu is for Cebuanos as if you want to keep it to yourself. You probably dom't know how much foreign tourism and foreign investments are contributing to your economy. Take the BPO sector out alone and see how much it drags the economy down. You're probably one of those quasi-racists hating on Tagalogs being in Cebu. And I completely understand that viewpoint, but honestly you're being just like those people you're hating on
