FYI : The "Gabii sa Kabilin" as your guide told you is every end of May, is only found in Cebu which is patternd after Germany's Night of the Museum. At around 6:00pm all museum & historical places in the 4 different cities(Cebu ,Mandaue, Talisay,lapu-Lapu cities) are opened until midnight with group tours available.... EXCELLENT VIDEO !!!

Wow!, now i know Parian is a town, kc i remember my Papa kasama daw cla sa Movie, "Ungo sa Parian" kinuha cla extra with his brother Leopoldo, sa Sampaguita Picture at dyan cla nagshooting. My Mama also work at Dr Tohong clinic...when she meet my Papa...wow!, i feel like i am in time machine......i remember the story of my Papa and Mama...

Hope in the process of restoration the restorer should leave traces of patina in the house. Patina are traces of old age like exposed brick wall, crack plastered wall,faded and scaling wall paint and accumulated dust particles on crevices part of the wall, These patina give, integrity, mystery, and charm to an old house or antiques. The cooking area where the palayok are is called abohanan This are common cooking device use in the provinces. We use this in our dirty kitchen in the province.A hardwood holllow table filled with earth and an adobe or brick is use as stand where the palayok or caserole are place.A wood or a coconut shell is use as fuel. Abohanan derive from the word abo or pinag abohan. meaning a place for ash

Parian district in Cebu was the old Chinese quarters. All the rich prominent Chinese and chinese mestizos families of cebu comes from Parian.
Nung pumunta ako dyan 2012 ang naging guide namin ang mismong architect n nagrerestore sa bahay si Mr. Tony Abelgas. Di mo pinakita yung super bigat n table duon sa isang room na 10 people ang nagbuhat para malagay dyan. Sana lang maayos pa rin nila para tumagal.

Kabilin means heretage or pamana in tagalog. so mayron palang event dyan sa lugar na yan like heretage night. parian is read as pari-an from the word pari. that place is lugar ng mga pari na jesuits. yan ang center ng nakilang mission in those days... in the history of eduction in the entire world, jesuits talaga ang mga unang teachers. they taught people literacy, numeracy and science even during war. silang pinaka magaling na teachers...

In fact I've been in Yap-Sandiego, the Jesuits House, Cathedral Museum, etc. I hope you have tried Casa Gorordo, it's nice too. Museu Sugbo also. I was the one who commented in one of your vlogs last year requesting you to visit Cebu and have a walk along Colon St. which is the oldest street in the Philippines. I'm happy knowing that you have visited our city, hope you enjoyed. 😊

Ginawaan nila ng exhibit for the public to see sana may taong na makakapag bigay ng maayos na history. This could be a nice place to educate the younger generations. School, religious, civic organizations, and company trips could be a good target groups to market this place.

Yung tunog na nangagaling sa labas, haha! Medyo nakakatakot, parang tunog sa mga alien movies. 😅 Naalala ko din yung Jumanji medyo hawig sa nagtatambol. Hehe! 😅 Pero ang laki at ang ganda ng bahay. Lalo na siguro noong kapanahunan niyan na bagong bago.
Im a pure blooded Cebuano and thats why Cebu never had any area called Chinatown because Cebu city downtown itself is already a "chinatown" which are full of chinese traders/stores back then and even up until now.
