I was fortunate enough to get to go pick up crawfish with these guys in 2003. We went to church together and they let me and my 6 yr old son ride along. We got covered in mud and had a blast! Great family!
I grew up in southeast Texas in the late 50's and was crawfishing or crawdaddying ever since I was 4 or 5 in every ditch I could find. Used a string and bologna and bacon when our family had it. Bacon was best and lasted the longest. I'm ver jealous of this crawfish farm. Very fortunate folks!
In 1969, Algiers LA, at the ripe old age of 6, I smelled my first boil! LOL Once you smell a Crawfish Boil, and of course, eat some, you will NEVER forget them!
@Yugo Yankoff My son had a pretty bad milk allergy, and he found that taking a couple of benadryl a few minutes before he ate solved the problem. IDK if it will work for your allergy, but thought I'd mention it just in case. Enjoy.
Ok I have been obsessed with crawfish ever since I remember eating some Cajun crawfish from my home state of Texas and they were so delicious. This video is cool how it shows the people all together enjoying some food, and it really is true we need to be more like this, the new social media age can be soulless sometimes. Hopefully I can find some of these things in Michigan.
Safe to say I have been listening to this voice for a long time. Always a pleasure. A Texas legend that has criss-crossed this state to show all of it's unique wonders. Love it.
I remember doing this at my papaws growing up. He had 3 crawfish ponds and that ain't no joke about the snakes. I couldn't have been older than 7 when I pulled my first one up with a snake and I could've ran across the top of that pond to land that day I was so scared. Needless to say I wasn't grabbing anymore traps that day.
I just made some three days ago for my family I'm from California but I live in Louisiana an I thank God I learned how to cook all Louisiana food so wen I'm not there I DNT miss it I can make it myself.
Steve it might just be you thats boring haha. We 1000% have crawfish and crawfish boils in Arizona lol, ya gotta know the right people. I'll take you to trap em and boil if you want! Go to hot n juicy crawfish on mill ave if you want to try them steve, not nearly as good as a homemade boil but they're decent.
Here in Portland I use the basket style traps with cans of cheap cat food punched with lots of holes for bait. Into the stock pot till bright red and have at it. A little garlic butter and whoopie!
For all of the people who are saying that the best crawfish comes from lousiannna who gives AF. This is not a lousiannna video, it is a TEXAS video kick rocks.
That's natures recycling 101. Ever seen wild pigs? Chickens were a must on a cattle farm. They scratch through cow dung to eat worms and fly wrigglers. Keeps the smell and flies away. The best chicken you will ever eat
Used to eat my weight in crawdads as a kid here in the Great Central Valley of California but haven't had any in many years so I got to get ne some.............
I gave em' a shot..Ordered my first and last platter at The Big Fisherman in Corpus Christi and all I can say is it's a whole lotta work for very little reward 😒

If I was an American I would love to be from one of the southern states.

That translates to about 30 to 40 dollars a pound for the actual meat.
Yeah blue crab!!!
I grew up on the California Delta. We have the same thing every year and have a bunch of Crawfish feeds!
I'm in oakdale. My buddy is a rice farmer and has his bathtub filled with those critters every year.
I’m allergic to crayfish but hasn’t stopped me from eating them
Not necessarily fatal. More like uncomfortable and itchy. My sister is the same way. Just keep some form of antihistamine near by and eat up

How long does it take to grow them to a decent size to eat
During the clean up for Katrina .my sister told me about the dead bodies they we're finding .....they had craw fish and crabs eating them .
sabrina gonzalez that’s gross and sad 😞 but not surprising. Bottom feeders eat what they can when they can.
