@@xdarrenxjust make sure guitars has slight low cut on everything below 100-120 HZ - your sound will not degrade, instead, the bass punch will be much more noticeable
Yeah that's true, but I wasn't really on about the accent open string here and there which they definitely do, I was on about chugging the lowest 2 strings in droptuning all the time but you're right
At first, I for some reason read this as “Metal Genres without distortion” in the sense of these are the sub genres that don’t use the characteristic distortion on the guitar. Realised by metalcore that I had read that wrong lol.
Thrash metal without distortion sounds exactly like some Spanish flamenco, bulls run and Carmen vibes all together. You can truly see the roots of the music in very unexpected genres 😮
When I was learning to play, all I wanted to do was hear the guitars without distortion so I could understand what was being played. For some reason, the more distorted the music was, the harder it was to understand the riffs.
I wouldn't call it "some reason," the reason is in the name. Distortion makes the sound fuzzier, and fuzzy sound is harder to parse. Not saying it can't be done, but even a non-musician can pick out when clean chords aren't in tune.
nu metal without distortion is just whatevers playing in the backgrounf of a korn song when jonathan is saying urauratatikambauuuraka
Dude I thought Johnathan was talking about ciabatta bread, “oooohilikemyooooahrahchiabattabread”
@@Tetarkall that wouldn't make sense in the rest of the song but it's funny

Nu Metal without distortion sounds like the intro to the same riff with distortion.
real
realest shit ive seen all week
Holy shit that would actually sound pretty sick.. lol
I already thought of a sick drum part to it in my head lol
That's actually a fairly common thing
Nu metal without distortion sounds like a different section of a nu metal song
sounds like a korn intro lmao
Sounds like Primus
Sounds like a slow bit in a jazz fusion tune.
@noobslayer135 I was thinking it sounds like "Jerry was a racecar driver"

Mu metal without distortion just sounds like the breakdown in a Korn track with Jonathan going feral over it.

Thrash is straight up Pokémon

So true!
it sounds more like the old doom games to me
@@OTZI_BOI It really doesnt though
@@OTZI_BOINo not at all 😂
but it really does sound like pokemon or like a old snes boss theme song.
The thrash metal sounds like a Mexican cowboy chase scene 💀💀
HEY I CAN HEAR THE BASS NOW edit: yes I know guys you can always “hear” it. I was joking.
Production tip: distort the bass a bit and boost it's gain a bit
That should help with the AJFA slip
As a guitarist, this is a mirror I didn't want to be held in front off, was it always us?

Thrash without distortion is basically a normal SOAD pre chorus riff.
Metalcore without distortion sounds like epic medieval witchcraft
The chugs still sound sick
yawn
It went from ass to ass
Witchcraft, on the other hand, sounds like doom 😌
It’s the guy who made punk-o-matic
I still have a obsession with that game
Idk why but Thrash Metal with no distortion sounds so lovely
Sound like a old video game boss theme 😅
Sounds like aggressive country or blues
You must love Pokemon music then because that is literally what it sounds like

Surf rock
Can we just note that thrash definitely still works clean
Sounds mediterranean/flamenco-ish
Sounds bad but at least makes sense musically
Still agressive even when clean. Gotta love it.
That’s bc the aggressive playing results in ‘natural’ distortion so it still resembles the lick played with a distortion pedal.
It reminds me of Tenacious D, who definitely thrashes on their acoustics from time to time.
Those high notes in metalcore sound magical
Slayer? More like Surfer
Matador (?)

The best way to comprehend. Distortion masks
I love the arpeggios in metal-core. They sound so sweet and pleasant, without distortion!
