Just joining you and Florence , oh how I love yu two and watching your amazing adventures . I'm a senior and won't be sailing any day soon so thank you from the bottom of my heart . Keep up the good wotk 🎉😂
@5:52 until you encounter a Great White ;) @11:50 That's the reason why we are opting for a centreboard, lifting keel (alu) boat, to enter those waters where practicly no other yacht will be and/other to shelter in rivers/leeward.
Oh those 1am departure times... Beautiful island, awesome underwater tour. So thankful for time you give to the many details to share and that opening music always brightens my view to see where you are today. Stay safe.
Hi Alan, during our time there the weather put the tourist boats off and they only came for one day. However when they do come it is only for the day, and the reef is huge. So we snorkeled away from them and then when they all packed up and went home we explored the island.
Sailing Yacht Florence , do give yourselves time to enjoy the Whitsundays, lots of protected anchorages & great snorkeling straight off the boat from public moorings....if you beat the charter boats!
I used to live on Scotland Island, Pittwater, Sydney, the put your clothes in a dry bag and take the boat to Church Point was the way I used to get to work. All year round :)
one of the more beautiful videos i have seen lately. there is something about having ones hair cut on the beach that is just right. your pancakes look delicious ( my favorite) may i ask, you two are experienced, when snorkeling how long can you hold your breaths?
Mouth watering deliciously looking banana pancakes Amy, Yummy for the Tummy! What a lovely relaxing start of the next part of your fantastic journey! Also a great hair dressing job Amy! Underwater videos are getting better all the time, perhaps you know “ Dreched”, they make professional underwater videos, and just started sailing their own yacht. Whishing you fair winds, from Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
Another great video from one of the nicest couples on youtube. Love you guys. After seeing your pancakes I ordered the Gourmia GKS9160 compact kitchen scale. 😊
Was wondering if you have met Troy and Pascal, the couple in Australia whose channel is "Free Range Sailing"? Not sure where they currently are but y'all could be relatively close.
From what I have read 5 hours continuous sleep is a human imperative. You mention 3 hour stints... I know very little about the demands of ocean sailing however you must have selected that timing from somewhere, was it the best advice?
Hi Peter, Everybody is different but sailing with just 2 on board will always result in some sleep deprivation during long ocean passages. We now do shifts of 3,4,4,3 hours through the night as it works best for us, others have their own methods which work for them. It takes some experimentation to find the best for each team.
@@SailingYachtFlorence Thanks for responding. My info on sleep/fatigue was probably dated so I looked around. This 'light' article may even extend the suggestion from 5 to 5.5 but as you say everyone's different. Each crew has its own dynamic: plus interruptions occur. Great video, thank you. As two people from the motherland, I'd be keen to know your thoughts on Australia, and whether it is worth sailing the Pacific to get here. I notice with most overseas sailors they only sail as far south as Sydney before heading north again, little do they know that the best beaches, flora, and fauna are along the south coast from Sydney to Melbourne.
Hi There, Aus is worth sailing to because the journey across the Pacific is so amazing. The bureaucracy and cost of entering Aus with a yacht does put a lot of cruisers off. As for going further south, we know it is beautiful and we would have loved to visit Melbourne/Tasmania but it is a big distance when you only sail at 5 or 6 knots and there is only so much time before we need to be on our way out of Aus and on to Indonesia.
@@SailingYachtFlorence Interesting response, and thank you. It's a bit stupid for a country which relies heavily on tourism to price itself out of the market! Good luck with the rest of your trip, but mostly, enjoy yourselves.
In AU you need a hat, even here in summer in Switzerland. And caps in our snowy winter. Do you wear hats or do you live at the North or South Pole😃😃😃😃😃
Another great episode guys! Nice hairdressing skills Amy but looks like you've got a few greys coming through Matt - join the club ;-) (mind you, for me it's more a case of spot the dark one!). I assume you'll be checking out the "yacht club" on middle Percy Island when you get there (maybe you already are?)
Yep we stopped at Middle Percy and left a sign there. We are really enjoying this section of the Australian coast. We're about a month ahead of the videos now (it takes a while to edit them).
@@SailingYachtFlorence are you going round to the Kimberlies (Kimberly's?) It looks absolutely stunning round there if the Free Range Sailing vids are anything to go by. They are definitely on my itinerary...
I have watched all of your videos to date, and love the scenes with the dolphins swimming a!ong side the boat. I am trying to find the episode where one of the dolphins turns on its side and looks up at Amy then flips over and swims upside down. Can you help me find it? Thanks
Hi guys, you're about 80 nautical miles south of another youtuber couple, Free Range sailing. Check them out! They seem fun and layback people like you. Maybe an idea to meet... :)
Apart from you and 30 some other sailing channels, I follow, I reckon you would have fun hooking up with "Free Range Sailing" . Nice to see healthy new coral. Tern Tern Tern " The Byrds". Lovely video, thanks :)
I never tire of watching your videos. Every one of them interesting and watching you both, even a haircut, compelling!
From what I have seen, you guys eat like kings....and queen. Well done Amy on great culinary skills. Keep the videos coming. Love this channel

Your producing some really nice content. Enjoy your adventures.
Wonderful . Thank you.
Beautiful island and the reef was really nice. Really did enjoy all of the birds. Also, that was one outstanding hair cut.
Great video - Musgrave Island
looks amazing.
1 11 , it is exciting to sail there and experience the lagoon and island, however daily tourist catamarans disgorge heaps of people onto the island.

Maybe with the one exception of Byron Bay, there's not anything to be missed between Sydney and here, so good job with the skipping

I tapped the 'thumbs up' before I watched it. Another stellar job on the video. Is this the first time you set up a tripod under water?
Good videos

Hi Florence, question where you have your sailing dinghy from.
Regards, John.
Hi John, We get asked about our dinghy a lot so we have a page on our blog about her here sailwiththeflo.wordpress.com/our-dinghy/

I have 1 question what did it cost to go through the panama canal??
That will be in the next episode, however we have just heard that he canal are doubling their prices for Yachts.

Maybe you meet Free Range Sailing?
So the big question is what are you trying to order in French? If you asked in German/Swedish/Greek I would know.
Gosh what is that sea creature at 6:01? I hope you tipped your hairdresser well for making you look so handsome!
