Hands down, the best sailing channel. Thought through, great information, well prepared, intelligently presented, quality dialog and great videos as well,
I’m from Canada and I’ve been to Sydney. I don’t think I’ll ever sail my own boat over there unless there is a big change in my life and boat size. Seeing this video brought back so many memories. I love watching your adventures. Keep living the dream!
This video is a total blast! So much fun to watch from the yacht race to Sidney Harbor and more. Thanks for letting me come along for the ride. Happy Trails
I love the way you did the 'skip ahead'!!! Creative and fun!! Loved it. Sydney is a dream destination for me as well. Some day! Keep inspiring. Live your show. Better than anything tbe television has to offer!!!
Sydney is a magic place, I sure miss it, but all the breathtaking beauty is just away from the city, and there are many gorgeous bays tucked away in the Harbour, but just north in Broken Bay is the real gem of the area. Fantastic video guys, sterling job.
Thank you for sharing your adventure and I love your natural, no fuss story telling style. You have a wonderful ability to capture the essence of every place you visit. Always look forward to your posts!
What a great achievement after 2.5 years of Sailing to arrive at Sydney Harbour. You look very accomplised Amy, sailing into Sydney Harbour, with pony tail and baseball hat at 6:12min. lovely shot! NYE at Sidney Harbour would be to stressfull to me, but you tickt it off the list! Well done both off you. Really looking forward to the Great Barriair reef! Wishing for fair winds, from Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
Wow. This vid brings back so many memories. Jogging past the opera house at lunchtime, ferry to work under the harbour bridge... Lived in Sydney for 11 years until the crazy prices drove us to Queensland. Thanks for sharing.
Of course without a doubt it’s worth it. Lived in Sydney for 6 years & had the pleasure of watching NYE fireworks in Sydney from Garden Island (island in the middle of the harbour) and its MAGNIFICENT!! Now in Melbourne & missing Sydney terribly...thanks guys:) My husband & I have a 5 year plan to be on the water full time & Sydney Harbour during NYE on our own boat is definitely on the list. Watching this after sailing to the Baltic for summer and still loving your adventures. Don’t know how you find the time to film and cruise. Thanks again.
The Sydney Hobart Race start is something else. I was on one of the ferries that followed the race out through the heads. After being out there amongst all the mayhem I wouldn't take my yacht (33ft) out there. Amongst all the power boats a small yacht is just not powerful enough or maneuverable enough to keep it safe. Envious of you in Sydney Harbour, I'll get my boat over there eventually, I'm in WA.
I’m so glad you were able to see the NYE fireworks in Sydney bloody harbour, no less!! Looked sooo stressful with all those vessels! Can’t wait for your Great Barrier episodes. Another amazing chapter added to your dream 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
That episode should have come with a health warning - I nearly choked on my chocolate digestive when you decided to "skip a bit" LoL!!! Well done on getting that harbour bridge tick - it looked fantastic! Also, loved the soundtrack on this one. More please bbc, er, I mean Florence ;-)
My South Carolina southern drawling ears had to get a replay... when you were discussing how Sydney was walking friendly... You said "cycle paths". I heard "psychopaths"... "All the psychopaths here make it easy to get around here..." 😂 Great video, definitely on a to-do list for me now!!!
Fantastic video and a milestone you can tick off your bucket list, not only did you sail under thee Sydney harbour bridge, but you saw the new year fireworks display..
Wish I found your channel a year ago I would of walked past your boat everyday i used to love in glebe right next to the fish markets I actually remember seeing a yacht with GB sails was probably you! Too bad you didn't come to Melbourne! Would of shown you around Melbourne and our yacht club!
Destination berths - what a great idea :) Halfway round the world , outstanding. Just the other half to do now then 3 sisters panorama's spectacular NYE fireworks madness worth the hassle :) Bon Voyage
Congrats on achieving one of your bucket list dreams. It was a very big one and I'm sure you're very proud of your accomplishments. I hope to fulfill that same dream in a few years on my boat. In the meantime I enjoy seeing it through your eyes and knowing that anything is possible if you work hard enough. Love you guys. ❤️
Great video guys, that rain storm is like the weather back here in Blighty. Another great TH-cam channel called Free range sailing, an Ozzie couple who are extremely knowledgeable about Australia and here free bountiful food and water sources are around where you are now somewhere. Well within a thousand miles maybe , I’m not sure but it would be great to see the both of you meet up
wow, the fish market has changed a lot. In 1990 I spent a month working for a chap whose business was selling prawns by the roadside, and every day I'd go there to pick up a load. It was a lot less salubrious back then!!!
Sydney around the harbour is very expensive for food. Sometimes you get a few good promotions at harbourside restaurants with a drink and meal just either side of peak hours. I would also go to Pittwater for some 'quiet' .
Yes sailing into and around Sydney Harbour is majestic. We watched the 1988 new year fireworks in the little cove off of Luna Park just mind boggling. Especially exciting was the tall ships and reenactment when there was 10 times the amount of boats shown here for the start of the S2H race we had 15 people fending as we were motoring with the flotiler never been in anything like it and most likely never will again. Glad you enjoyed it and you definitely timed it right. You look like another good sailing channel worth like subscribe and bell note. Plus I think with your timing that you have already past my anchorage SE Qld. Cheers.
Loved everyone of your videos. Thanks for a beautiful expose of our beautiful east coast and Sydney hope to see you in West Australia at sometime. Can't wit for th next episode. Cheers
Hey guys, loving your videos. Been following you for about 9months now. This episode was especially great as I’m currently training for the Clipper Round the World Race 2019_20. Also seeing the Sydney - Hobart start was awesome as I’m hoping to Crew on any available boat (no takers yet) after completing the southern ocean leg of the CRW. Keep up the great videos and enjoying your amazing experience. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻⛵️⛵️⛵️⛵️⛵️
Good luck with the clipper race and make sure you clip on in the Southern Ocean especially, do you know which team you will be on? We follow the race when we have internet. We guess your training is based in Gosport? That is where we started from!
Sailing Yacht Florence , yes we train from Gosport, small world 😊 I will be competing on Team Zhuhai, with Nick Leggatt as skipper. Thanks for the reply 👍🏻

That's just Sydney prices. Best Camembert in Australia comes from Tasmania. But none of Australian Camembert is anywhere near as good as the usual provincial French cheese. And this is because of our milk laws which require pasteurized milk. Good milk but not good for some cheese!
Awesome vlog. I am from the Solent....Southampton / Isle of Wight. You sound Berkshire/Surrey. Anyway what a great journey you are on. I will follow you
One word: wow! Sailing by the Sydney Opera, I wish you had seen my face! Thanks for sharing your adventures. It was worth waiting 6 months for the video. Having said that, you're not answering the question: was sailing half the world to see Sydney Harbor worth it?
Hi Philippe, Yes it was definitely worth it. Sailing under that bridge was a real life goal of ours and we both felt very emotional to have achieved it. We had hoped the video and our reactions answered the question.
@@SailingYachtFlorence it sure did.. I just wanted you to say it again 😁 and I can relate somehow, since I am planning on sailing under the Golden Gate for the first time hopefully next month. But I don't have to cross 2 oceans... Fair winds!

Most definitely..... also my old stomping ground. Used to hear rigging slapping against the masts of vessels moored in Pittwater.
Mine also.
Though I don't miss how crowded the Harbour was becoming.
