- me making fun of album covers != i dont like the album
note: i forgot to add this since it was first brought to my attention (thought i already added this) but the london calling cover is a reference to the elvis presley cover, in which i was unaware of as i do not listen to elvis, nor would i ever assume that it was a callback to the cover. while i still think it is a kind of iffy cover regardless, i really do wish i did the slightest bit of research to know that it was based on an elvis cover and i somewhat sincerely apologize to all the people i pissed off

Honestly one of the best album covers I've seen is for Filth by SWANS. It's easily of their most iconic covers, and it fits the album extremely well.
Donda by Kanye West has the best album cover oat. You see it everywhere, even when you close your eyes! How could it not be the greatest album cover ever made?

Other the the text at the bottom, the cover to necroticism perfectly fits Carcass's image and is just plain awesome in a way that i don't feel like justifying right now

In my opinion I really like how Pinkerton's album cover looks, but I dont like it as an album cover. It just doesn't feel album covery if you get what I mean
@@Qwertyuiopaz Yes, the truth is that it doesn't look like a conventional album cover. In fact, the artwork on the album cover comes from a Japanese artist's work titled "Night Snow at Kambara." But if you look at it, it fits perfectly with the themes covered in Pinkerton, I feel like when I hear Rivers' anguish, the cover fits perfectly. . As if the cover showed a raw and melancholic intimacy.
@@textureedition624 I think another reason I never got the cover is due to Weezer's reputation of being a nerdy rock band. Them going from the blue album cover, to Pinkerton, back to the green album cover just makes Pinkerton look out of place. If the album cover belonged to any other band I wouldn't find it weird. Though I do understand why Rivers did what he did. It's more so my fault for watching too many immature weezer memes.
Surprised you didnt mention any memphis rap album covers, pretty much every single one was so bad yet had so much soul that they became pretty legendary.
Also nice having unwound in the outro, that band is sick. The cover for fake train is just a different album cover from someone else that they threw some random shit on and called it a day.

I was thinking about album covers few days back, found a really unknown band with a sick cover; Red Zone Planet's "Asteria". Then made me think of some others like Infected Mushroom's "Legend of the Black Schwarma", and Kavinsky's "Reborn" album.

Kevo Muney's Baby G.O.A.T is a goated album cover.
Literally any 90s emo album cover. They all have the same energy as weezers blue album but with nostalgia too. Some great ones in my opinion are (obviously) American Football's LP1, The Promise Ring Nothing Feels Good, Mineral The Power of Failing, and the last is a compilation album and honestly, the cover looks horrible, but something about it gives me a really weird feeling i cant describe but i think its great, Crank Record's (Don't Forget to) breathe compilation.

An Album cover, I think is horrible but amazing at the same time would be Acrylics self titled one. It looks weird and dodgy. So much so, that I almost can't take it serious but at the same time it kinda fits to their Noise-Rock style.

Ok, but a standout for the 50s was Frank Sinatra’s ‘In the Wee Small Hours of the Morning’. That thing is regarded as the first concept album, and it’s cover looks like a freakin movie poster
Beatles had loads of iconic album covers, and I think electric ladyland by jimi hendrix is another great one from the 60s. In the 90s, a tribe called quest had iconic album covers, i cant get enough of them. I find david bowie album covers hit or miss but when they hit, they HIT.

i think i may have been a little harsh on the album cover and i kinda regret dogging on it that hard (other than the reissue covers) but i still believe it to not be a good cover in my personal opinion although its still an incredibly iconic one for punk

The best cover artist for metal is most definetely Dan seagrave. You can’t go anywhere in deathmetal without seeing his art, fantastic art. some of the best are effigy of the forgotten, left hand path, that one benediction album, altars of madness, clandestine and like an ever flowing stream.
