Thanks to everyone who uploads clips of Newsnight Review/The Review Show. I really miss hearing critics dissect the artistic highlights of the week. Appreciation of the arts seems to be falling off the BBC's radar entirely which is very sad.
Sin City The film is well acted, intriguing, well casted, stylish, effective, terrifically directed & is A very dark comic book adaptation. (85%) (4/5 stars) (positive) A History Of Violence Leading actor Viggo Mortensen delivers one of his best roles in this masterfully directed, stylish, violent & intriguing crime thriller. (91%) (4.5/5 stars) (positive)
"I don't like violence". "I thought the sex scenes were fantastic". Can program directors please stop feeling as though they have to have the token woman on the panel? I can't see what need she fulfills beyond the superficial "need" to avoid accusations of sexism, or the misguided appearance of progressiveness. The only quality she brings to the table is her gender.
@@Slechy_Lesh I don't know does he like women on things, I do, on many various things and on one in particular, but that's beside the point, what's important are questions and venues for arguing he opened.

Happy 2025!
🥳
Amusing to me that Kermode is so often the only one who seems to understand that which is being discussed
Kermode couldn't nail it better.

What Frost poems are being alluded to here?
Or it just you who agrees with him ;)
The woman should not be at this table, she’s clueless
kermode aside, she comes closest to understand history of violence

Absolute nonsense. I'd have more respect for you if you were open about your misogyny.
@@Slechy_Lesh but that's not the point! The point is to address misogynist's argument because he might be right.
@@gorankatic40000bc You don't really think there's more to that guy's point other than he doesn't like seeing women on things?
