As a young man, i really like Terre de hermes. Tbh i don‘t get why people describe it as mature. I find it refreshing and prefer it over a lot of blue scents for spring and summer
I agree that it is refreshing and unique compared to many other citrus based fragrances. However, I think you and I have tastes that aren't really representative of our age demographic. Most people my age scoff at TDH and scream ''old man, old man''. Not everyone is used to vetiver in fragrances.
It's the same as Sauvage. That was released in 1966, has a really big resurgance in the last half decade or so. Some fragrances go out of fashion and then come back in and there are some that are always around but pick up again in different eras, I feel d'hermes and Sauvage are two of them.
@@rickylovesyou Eau Sauvage was released in 1966. It is still sold today in various concentrations. Sauvage EDT was released in 2015. They are completely separate fragrances with distinct scent profiles. Not even in the same genre.
Awesome! Review man. I just wanted to buy this now. Just smelled Bvlgari terre essence and just fall in love with it. Many people are saying it's similar to TDH so best thing is that I must go with Fattan as I cant afford both the expensive ones 😉😂
I finally got this, and I love the refined and elegant dry down. Your reviews are articulate and straightforward. I also got Azzaro Visit on the strength of your review. Both scents suit the middle aged professional. Warm regards from the Philippines!
I appreciate that very much! Visit and Fattan are two amazing fragrances that are inexpensive yet classy enough for daily, formal use. Saludos from Spain 🇪🇸
Salutations d'espagne!
Thank you so much! I found Terre D'Hermes 125 ml refill at an incredibly acceptable price (last bottle at an official reseller), but I am afraid if it would perform well. Because of all the things I read and heard about reformulation. Do you think original Terre D'Hermes EDT projects within an arms length? I should be able to smell perfume (only sprayed to my wrists) with ease when standing up, not moving my arms, arms fully free showing ground next to my chest. In other words it needs to have 2 feet radius of scent bubble around me. I think it is the bare minimum an original perfume sillage should be? If original, new bottle of Terre D'Hermes sillage is likely to project 2 feet around me then I will get it instead of Rasasi.
Just wanted to circle back and say thanks. This fragrance has been a staple during the summer so far, and has put Dior Homme 2020 on the back burner during these 110-115F days!
I don't know Terre D Hermes but I know Fattan.. I wish it would be a bit sweeter. but I smelled a very similar and appealing scent on other people, which smells sweeter and there is more orange than Fattan, so I thought that might be the original. what might that sweeter version be that I often smell on people, has anyone an idea?
Hey! Well, it could be any number of vetiver/citrus fragrances, but I have a feeling it's likely either Terre Parfum or maybe Eau Intense Vetiver, both from Hermes. Prominent orange note in the Terre Parfum, which could be responsible for the sweetness you mention; or maybe it's the resinous sweetness of benzoin. Vetiver Eau Intense has some of that sweet woodiness from amberwood, so maybe that would be what you're smelling.
@@realscentreview thank you. I guess it is a popular one, since I smelled it several times. So mostlikely Terre d hermes parfum then. I will order a sample. Thx again.
There's a fragrance I've heard get compared to a brighter version of Terre d'Hermes EDT (I've also seen it described as a Td'H EDT + Voyage d'Hermes EDT hybrid) called Robert Talbott cologne. I've been meaning to blind buy because it's twice the size of Fattan for less money (100 ml bottles cost $17 on FragranceX), and I've only heard good things about it so far.
@@futureskipper4616 I've never tried Fattan, but have you ever found a fragrance that you could buy a large bottle of for under twenty bucks which had great performance (unless it was an ultra synthetic chemical bomb)? I've yet to. I wish now that I'd bought more than one bottle of Robert Talbott before FragranceX ran out, because having to carry around a decant to reapply is a small price to pay for a scent of it's quality/value.
Here in Europe they are still selling it, but at inflated prices. I have reached out to the company to inquire about potential discontinuation, but they have not answered.
fattan is more like greenish version and it doesn't have that dirty citrusy orange notes which makes Terre d hermes quite unique. On its own it is good but not as a clone

@@thetattooedguy1413 Both are mature scents. I would say Artisan XX is a bit more challenging because of the intense vetiver aspect, but then again the performance isn't great. I would say overall Fattan is the better choice. Better performance and slightly "safer" smell

The quality of the perfume and the projection os outstanding, this you only need to use a couple of sprays as it can be too much 😀

The way you described it, it sounds more like the original Cartier Declaration to me.

USD 10-12 equivalent in Pakistan this one lol
Only about $17 USD here in Western Europe.

Earthy, dusty, maybe ever so slightly animalic.
