What an amazing drum player! Wanted him so hard on Dream Theater to show his talent in the world. Pitiful. But he is still incredible on Hangar.
I'm fact I'm pretty sure he would've done a better job than mangini... Not that I despise MM, but Priester's got better soul for drumming metal...
Aquiles great drummer on metal same with Peter Wildoer also..but my opinion they good on metal..i think Mangini not really have feel with metal as them. i more hoping keep go on with metal music than Prog Rock. Choosing Mike doesnt bad at all. love metal \m/
At that time Peter Wildoer was the perfect replacement for MP, but I really wanted Bobby Jarzombeck to get hired. It's a shame he didn't appeared at last, 'cos he was at Petrucci's drummer list :(
I really love something about Aqulies: He doesn't hit the snare drum; he ATTACKS it.

@gangsterthomas1000 that's true, but Mike Mangini suited Dream Theatre more, as he is more used to the sudden jams and that, while this guy is still a bloody beast
@chaidamz2 The sad thing about him not making it is that he was so pressured on his own accord... He would've been a great drummer for Dream Theater.

I did notice that they redid quite a few songs from the "Reason of Your Conviction" album... and the redone tracks with Sobrinho sound way more solid vocally... but how can I find these songs? Only way I've found is through TH-cam on these drumming videos, but I want the mp3... iTunes has the original album which I don't like as much. Any ideas?
(Yes, I'm answering you 5 years later). Not sure why the tracks were redone but their purpose is to be backing tracks for dvds such as this one (and workshops/workshows probably). They will not be available to the general public, unless they leak somehow.

Não é o Nando, isso eu tenho certeza. Dependendo da época que foi gravado esse dvd, pode ser o Andre Leite, mas acho que é o Humberto.

Watch him get shown up on his own kit by Richard christy(ex DEATH), using only 2 drums, its quite funny, you can literally see portnoy realising he sux compared to christy.
