I do have a physical address book, but I've been thinking of transferring it to a spreadsheet where I could easily print labels or envelopes on our home printer and make it less of a chore for myself to address all those envelopes. I didn't send out cards this year either. Also, handmade gifts are my favorite kind to receive! I love that I still have the blanket my grandma crocheted and a cross stitch she made now that she's no longer with us. I also really appreciate food gifts because they are consumable and don't clutter our house, and also take a chore off my plate!
I keep my address on index cards in a vintage Christmas recipe box. If I get a card from someone new I cut their return address off and glue or tape it to one of the index cards. Keep them in alphabetical order.
I have an address book, but I also have a running list on my computer for Christmas cards. Each year I duplicate the file, make any changes, additions, deletions, and then print it to use for hand addressing the cards. These files started when I got married and sent out invitations, so I have years of these address list files. It’s kind of fun every few year to look back and remember where people used to live and when new people were added to my lists. I will admit the first list was some work, but each year after that isn’t bad.
I have a wooden recipe box and I keep addresses on 3x5 cards. It also gives me space to keep notes on family member names, special dates etc. this makes it really easy to update when people move.
I have a wall calendar where everything gets written down, however, I also use my calendar in my phone. That way I can always know if a specific day is open for Dr visits or whatever. Plus my calendar is on the front of a door in my kitchen where hubby can easily see what is going on. Happy New Year. I just finished watching your video from the hospital in Asheville. My hubby is having some type of cardiac issues. It began yesterday during church. He will have a heart cath tomorrow & hopefully we will know something. Thank you for your prayers.
I would be lost without Google Sheets for addresses. Easy to access and update on your phone and sort, filter, and export if you ever need to print labels. You can also use the sheet to upload into Minted, etc. for preprinted addressed envelopes.
I got the cheapest 1” binder I could find, and some “recipe card holders” on Amazon. Labeled said binder “Remember”, and wrote out a 3x5 card for everyone of importance: name, address, phone number, birthday, email, allergies, etc.
For addresses, I have a google file that is set up for envelope labels. This way all I have to do is print the labels and stick on the envelopes. You could set up files for each different group: church, family, etc.
I have a 3-ring binder with ABC dividers for the last names. Notebook paper is placed behind the dividers. Written on the notebook paper is the family/person's name, address, phone number, cell number, children's names, and birthdates. The information is written vertically. I skip two lines and write on both sides. I keep the address book next to my monthly bills notebook.
@@janetstover7793 my system is similar, but instead of a binder, I used 3x5 index cards in a recipe box with the alphabetical dividers. In the same box I also have the monthly dividers so I can easily keep track of who I need to send out birthday cards to each month.
I love homemade gifts. I like giving them and receiving them. They are very special to me. I want to start making some sourdough products. I’ve never tried this before. I hope it turns out good. Have a great week! 😊
I love your plan for stuck in dinners for the holidays. There's little that is harder than illness during the Christmas season when most people have special plans. When is your new baby due? You look lovely.

I always love handmade gifts! One of my brothers gave us all handmade soap and it was by far one of my favorite gifts I received this year!

Love the organization and streamlined approach. Thanks for sharing!

Did you do any after Christmas shopping this year?
I happened by Target and bought a few ornaments to use as toppers, but didn’t end up doing a full haul this year.
