sorry to say this is likely a counterfeit copy, box is wrong, battery should be a SR44 like the package says (not LR44). on the bright side reports are the copies are accurate and cheaper.
No problem, I have an original 4" model. The problem is that the ABS point adjustment procedure (display of hyphens when the battery is reset and press on ORIGIN) is different with my copy (no hyphen but display of position.) It turns out that my copy is not accurate to within 3/100th mm. As MITUTOYO is not able to offer authentication of its products (by a scratch code for example), I bought TESA, SYLVAC and iGAGING.

J'ajoute que sur mon modèle, la procédure de réglage du zéro absolu est incorrecte (pas de tirets sur l'afficheur à l'engagement de la pile) et qu'il souffre d'une erreur systématique de 2 à 3/100e de mm.

@@diezelle57 Hello buddy :). ah ok, i understand. 👍 I am just looking for a Good and reliable digital caliper that Will allow me the advertised 0.02 millimeters tolerance, and ideally to switch back and forth between inches and millimeters. So probably something less fancy than the one you're considering at the moment :) 👍

does these calipers auto turn off after sometime as idle? I am asking as I dont see mine turn off unless turned off manually using a button.

That caliper will run much longer on an SR44 battery instead of the LR44 you have in it.
It runs 10x longer when you convert to an 18650 lithium battery. 🔋
