Lancashire Eccles Cakes is owned by the Edmonds family and specialises in the manufacture of handmade high quality Eccles Cakes. The Edmonds family has been involved in the manufacture of Eccles Cakes since the 1930s. The present Company, set up in 1979, produces the leading brand of handmade Eccles Cakes, ‘Real Lancashire Eccles Cakes’.
Still made using the family recipe, Lancashire Eccles Cakes can be found on the shelves of all leading supermarkets, as well as in delicatessens and local corner shops. We also export to Europe and America, so you can still enjoy the taste of traditional Real Lancashire Eccles Cakes whilst on your travels!
The Eccles Cake is a traditional product, which is believed to have originated in the town of Eccles, approximately five miles from our bakery. The Edmonds family recipe and method of manufacture has been handed down through generations. Our Eccles Cakes are handmade and consist of a mixture of the finest Vostizza currants, raisins, butter and sugar enclosed in a shell of flaky, buttery pastry. The cake is round and fairly flat in appearance and they are packed in traditional packaging. The manufacture of Eccles Cakes is very labour intensive as each one is made by hand.

I only have one hard and fast rule in life. If I see these on a shelf I buy 'em.
It says on the packet do not microwave - ignore that, stick one in for 15secs only, delish.
I’ve never warmed them. Ate them straight from packet as they are already cooked.
I grew up in Eccles and we had a local bakery who did absolutely outstanding Eccles cakes. A tradition was to eat them with some mild Lancashire Cheese. Sounds odd but a truly delicious combination.. :)
The only Eccles I've heard of was from the Goon Show. Excellent video Geoff.

Can get these in Scotland . Lancashire is in NW England and Eccles is a town just outside Manchester

GoJoMedia Geoff they certainly aren't too popular . there's quite a few regional thongs in Scotland they are not sold in England.
