hi its been ten months but i own madagascar hissing roaches as pets- they do and its weird as fuck and i literally hate it so much i got two females to avoid it. they also sometimes have kinda a lot, so like. if you just want a few you better hope they dont have babies.
i love them as pets theyre low maintenance and bc i live in a cold area i dont have to worry abt them being invasive if they ever escape (god forbid) but wow do i hate the babies

At least, they thought so until one day I was at her house drawing together on the kitchen table, and I looked up and said "Darby somethings wrong with your cockroaches" Just seeing the cockroach's back seemingly split open and some mysterious white shit coming out...then we get close to the tank and realize it was babies...... YEP that was the nightmare for the rest of the year.

Yeah there's a general consensus a lot of the time with people who didn't grow up with animals nearby, that they're just going to get aggressive upon human interaction or being held, etc. Not a false fact, but even with docile animals with a handler it's hard to avoid that natural notion you were raised with

Ron's cat reminds me so much of my beloved childhood cat. He was the sweetest thing on earth, let me nap on him (yes, ON him, using him as an actual pillow). He let me hold him every night and purred me to sleep, especially late at night after one of my dad's explosive rage episodes. He was my constant companion until we escaped that abusive household. I couldn't bring him with me, and even 2 decades later it haunts me that we couldn't save him too.

Fun fact - the rabbits generally don't eat their regular poop, they actually produce a special kind of poop called 'cecotropes' which they eat for extra nutrition. Hilarious to watch them do it cause they look kind of disgusted that they have to do it sometimes.
