Prepping Raised Beds For Planting

  • In this video, we prepare the raised beds for planting by adding coco coir to the first several inches of our soil. This should help the beds to retain water within the root zone of the plants and help keep the beds from drying out as quickly.

    Diametacious earth works well for insects that have exoskeletons..

      Yes, we’ve used it for years too. The only problem is that it’s very slow to work. I would rather try avoiding them from the start!

    Looks great! I'm interested in how your weed barrier works as far as drainage under the beds or when it rains?.

      Thank you. We used the professional greenhouse grade weed barrier. It is breathable so it allows water to drain thru it. No problems with drainage so far.
